Considering Bombur is a dwarf and shorter than a man, a fairly large man would weigh more. Maybe Beorn.

The innkeeper at the Prancing Pony. His name escapes me. Butterburn or something. He was a big guy.

barliman butterbur just to be padantic
i imagine that most men would be heavier than poor old bombur... i would think that beorn would be heavier aswell but does he actually count as a man? i guess in his man form he does... i always imagined old tom bombadil as a pretty well built fellow. |

I was joking. Actually I think that since Balrogs were described to be great absences of light (therefore possibly form) they may have had an incredible anti-weight!
(Happy Birthday to meeeeee)

I'd say Butterbur (oh what a great character) or Beorn. Well Beorn could change his shape however he wanted, which means he could change his wheight as well. I think I have just found the newest diet craze!: shape shifting!

First: Happy Birthday!
Second: Balrogs do not have wings! at least, that's how I read it... Third: I don't think Barliman Butterbur could possibly be quite that fat! It may be possible, but I always thought Dwarves were somehow stockier and heavier than Men. Not sure... Does Beorn actually count, if he's not actually a 'man, dwarf, elf, orc or wizard'? And the Balrog is a Maia, which Gandalf is, but not actually an Istari (wizard) so does it count either? Lanelf.

That one Goblin-King in The Hobbit was described as being very large, wasn't he?
