Sorry about that.

It's in the original ending/epilogue that Tolkien wrote for LOTR...you can find that in History of Middle-Earth. There was a band of dwarves that already set out to establish a colony in Moria. I'm not sure who led them. Those are the dwarves that are getting attacked...although right now they're trying to drive off the goblins.
Anyone's free to create a dwarf character in the colony. In fact, it would help a lot...

Use guttural letters like Kh, Z, G...and then throw in O's and U's. And an N or two. Other letters...use sparingly.

Not yet...I'll make some sort of major plot development now.
Here's my dwarf colonist:

Name: Dalginn son of Malginn
Race: Dwarf
Gender: Male
Weapons: Two handaxes, which are fairly big.
Appearance: More limber than other dwarves, not as stocky. Wears a blue cape and sturdy armor. A somewhat short beard.
Personality: Eager to find ways to prove himself. Can hesitate if caught in very nasty situation...but he almost always gets into these anyway!
History: Got wanderlust, decided to help colonize Moria again.
