TLA: A postscript, writing tips

*Miriam was enjoying a serene Sunday afternoon with a pot of tea. The phone rang frantically.*

Miriam: Hello? Oh, hi. What? An emergency? How do you know they'll show up? Is it really that important? Oh all right. How is Tuesday? Fine. I'll set it up.

*Miriam replaced the phone and logged on to her internet (throught dial-up, shudder). She sent a breif e-mail to all the TLAers who's e-mail she had, then went back to enjoying the winter sun.*

*Next Tuesday, Miriam went to open her office at around noon to prepare for the TLA meeting at one o'clock. Someone was already there, sitting on the steps.*

Katt: Hi. Thanks for doing this for me.

*Katt looked tired and dirty, with dark circles under her eyes.*

Miriam: Come inside. You look aweful. This really must be an emergency. What have you been doing?

Katt: Editing. The entire Sillymarilion.

Miriam: You mean, someone wrote all that stuff we did down?

Katt: Oh yes. All the TLAers helped. That is why I want to have this special meeting concerning being nice to your editor. Can I make some tea?

Miriam: What? Oh yes. There is a microwave and sink in the back.

Katt: Thanks.

*Miriam shook her head and turned on the heater.*
