is a really good and realistic tv-series. Me and mum have regularly been sitting down at 16.30 (Swedish TV3) each day watching it now for several weeks. (it's the old episodes, with Abby, Carter, Corday, Greene and Peter, if there are any ERites on the Moot.)

I concur with BB, errrr.... is a favorite of mine, perhaps even made famous by me....errrrr, wait a tic, I'm not famous at all, so that might not be accurate....

The show was great, but I thought it was done and gone?

Perhaps in the US it is over, but in Sweden they are showing the "new ones" on tv3 on Monday evenings and "old" ones on Mon-Fri at 1630.

Nope, it's not over as far as I know. I bought the early ones on DVD, cos I didn't really get into it until I caught season 8? on TV. Really enjoyed them, can't wait for the next season to come out on DVD - favourite character: Doctor Green.

In the "new" ones Dr Green, Elizabeth, Peter, Carter and Leo, the nasty economically minded surgeon are gone. Replaced with another afro-american, the Indian woman, a nerdy red-headed dr.

Weaver and Abby is still there, though.

The Indian woman is hot as hot can be, and can act to boot.

I haven't seen much of the newer episodes (seeing as college is devouring not only all my time and money but my very soul as well) but the show itself is seemingly able to keep up a high standard of quality despite (or because of) its extended run.

This might be because of the high character turn over rate, which brings new story lines and a fresh perspective so you don't find yourself going over the same old ground. That way, you don't end up saying the following to your TV:
"How many times has the bald guy had cancer? Four?"
"Dude, Carter should have finished his residency two years ago, why is he still changing bed pans?"
"Damn you George Clooney, you've been in love with that woman for five seasons, just admit it and stop sleepin' with the drug addicted anorexic Goth chicks!"

Not that I ever did that.

Just saying.

You know.
