My favourite Adventure Movies

1. John Boorman's Excalibur (without a doubt the absolute best King Arthur-movie ever)

2. The Mission

3. The Bounty

4. The Jungle Book (the REAL one)

5. The Three Musketeers (the new one)

6. The Mask of Zorro (the new one)

7. Robin Hood (one which was released the same year as RH-POT)

8. Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves

9. The Mummy (the new one)

10. The Mummy Returns (the new one)

11. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

12. Raiders of the Lost Arc

13. Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade

14. Highlander 1 (the absolute best of the four)

15. Star Wars: A new Hope

16. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

17. Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi

18. 2010 - A Second Odyssey

19. Mission to Mars

20. Red Planet

21. Total Recall (I know. Arnie isn't exactly the best actor in the world)

22. Deep Impact (the better of the two Meteor-movies released that year)

23. Planet of the Apes (the old one)

24. Capricorn One (perhaps more of thriller than an adventure, but I put it on the list anyway)

25. Godzilla (yeah, I know. It hasn't got much of a story, but the special effects are really good.)

And that's about it.

This is a general list not a ranking

But of course Willow should be there since I like Fantasy-movies very much. I my computor back home I have a list all the movies I ever seen since 1977 divided into categories (Action, Adventure, Comedies,Dance & Music, Drama, Thrillers and Nordic & Children) which currently contains over 2070 movies.

But since it's in an Excel-file it can't be shown. Really a pity, because then I could share it with you movie-fans.

My favorite movies are Apocalypse Now and Bladerunner (do those count as adventure?). After that, FotR, Die Hard, Mission: Impossible, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

What category a movie should be put in is up to the person who sees it, I guess. And then, of course, there are sub-categories as well.

Sci fi Action (which I would define Blade Runner to be)

Authentic Military Drama (which is my definition of Apocalypsy Now)

But as I said, the definition is in the eye of the beholder.
