The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I read it a long time ago... I liked it. I didn't really love it or anything but I'd probably read it again. The ending really blew me out of the water though...

I'll try not to give too much away, but the ending didn't really surprise me too much. The whole novel is filled with foreshadowing, plus our English teacher gave us a lot of hints. Actually, now that I think of it, I believe she just flat out told us what happened before we even read it.

I would still say it is a good book, though. You should read it (especially if it is assigned -- reading the material always helps on quizzes and whatnot).

Yes, it's worth it. It's by Steinbeck! No, it seriously is worth it - plus it's very short, so you might as well read it even if you don't like Steinbeck.

I really liked it. It was interesting and well-constructed and it made me want to read more Steinbeck!

I read it in English class too, he gave us a worksheet telling us the ending before it happened, but even when I read it it still brought tears to my eyes, worth it just for the ending I'd say.

I liked it, though it wasn't the 'best book ever'.

What really bugged me is that it was half of our American Lit final, and a 'friend' of mine got out of it because her father found the book and freaked out, then basically threatened the school. She didn't read it, and didn't have to do anything else to make up for not doing half of the final. Grr.
