In random order:

LotR (no, they're not as cool as the books, but still...)
Monty Python (how'm I supposed to choose which movie?)
Pirates of the Carribian (mainly 'cuz Depp was so great in it)
Troy (The scenery was great, and I must admit that some of the actors/actresses were, too)
Les Choristes or "The Chorus" (a French film. I watched it 3 or 4 times within five days)
Etre et Avoir ("To Be and to Have" Another French film. It's adorable)
Au Revoir, Les Enfants (what I saw of it)

And...erm...I can't think of any other favorites at the moment

(Your Top 10) Favourite Movies, take 2

This was a good thread, for a few minutes 7 years ago! Time to brush the dust off some of the oldies but goodies around here. *Bumpitty bump*

Creating any "best of" or "top ten favourite" list can be daunting, at best; even Roger Ebert wrings his hands when he has to make lists like this. We can always change our minds later if we forget to include a film that we forgot we loved. As I probably may, what with the swiss cheese I have for brains.

1. The Godfather ~ Coppola

2. The Breakfast Club ~ John Hughes

3. Fanny and Alexander ~ Ingmar Bergman

4. Rumble Fish ~ Coppola

5. The Black Stallion ~ A Coppola production, he closely mentored director Carole Ballard, basically directed the director.

6. Out Of Africa ~ Sydney Pollack

7. The Deer Hunter ~ Michael Cimino

8. The Grand Illusion ~ Jean Renoir

9. The Fellowship of the Ring ~ Peter Jackson

10. The Misfits ~ John Huston.

SEE HOW HARD THIS IS??! I have merely scratched the surface; I feel like the list should be more like 50 or 100 but who wants to slog through such long lists. These 10 I've listed are films that I could never, ever tire of rewatching, which is why they're in my top 10.

edit: *I already remembered I forgot one! Lawrence of Arabia ~ David Lean
