GILTHALION FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

Promptness! Promptness! What do you want anyway! I've had work to do! Not like the young idlers who are licking the Establishment's boots!

Couple of no good lousy antidisestablishmentatians, that's what they are! And I see two ADMINS supporting one of my opponents, who I suspect is also guilty of being a brother to the third!

Well, Mr Smarty Tater, my answers were mailed in minutes ago, my webcam is up and operating, my RealAudio campaign speech is online, and my campaign website is operational!

And I've debugged my &*#%(*&^# signature!

Vote for me and I promise all your dreams will come true!

Re: Um, sir?

well, well, well, i've been aparted from this passionate debate (excellently moderated by Darth Tater, btw).

now we're at the final rush of the presidential campaing. the votation will began tommorrow, and i think it'd be well to resume the positions in the debate:

Gil was the first in responding the questions and he has paid for it: he proved not too fond of old Entmoot traditions like free bourbon parties and roasting hutts. plus it seems he hadn't even hear about those ancient traditions. he seems more focussed in a publicitary campaign with real audio speeches and so (the link doesn't work anyway) than in speaking about contents. is this the president we want? well, people you must decide.

HOBBIT also seemed a bit confussed about Canada situation as Ben has already pointed ( btw), and was quite evasive in his responses. however he seems to have won the vote of most (powerful) members of the board. he has great chances to become our new president, especially if he get to dispell the rumors of corrupting and paying bribes to the admins. some have suggested he has cut again the supply of McGandalfs and McFrodos to our chief admin making him fall in a depression anf forcing him to make his way to the oval room. okay, hint.

gdl96 responded quite succesfully to the questions. besides, he's proof one of the most imaginative members with his legion of usernames, his weird threads and his creative spelling anyway he seemed not to have seen the question about Tom Bombadil and Xenarwen. i guess he's leaving that for this final part of the elections. i predict he's preparing something special to proove he's interested in Tolkien. if he achieve that goal i'm sure he'll win the presidential race.

okay. now i'd like to do a new question and i don't want evasive responses this time: MR. CANDIDATE, WHAT WILL BE YOUR VERY FIRST DECISSION AS ENTMOOT PRESIDENT?

FM....you just had to go and dig up the McGandalf incident, didn't you? I was hoping that would stay hidden forever. I must remind everyone that happened over eight months ago and HOBBIT is eight months older and eight months wiser.

My first decision will be to make no hasty decisions!

The link does not stream, I will amend the signature during lunch hour, I'm off to work in a moment!

You will have to go to the campaign website and download it directly!

Re: ....

I was aware of the Canada Wars, though I do not believe that was the name of the thread. I chose to address the larger issue of Canada's forthcoming Civil War in the context of that thread, as a careful reading of my answer shows.

I was also clear in my response to the matters of Hutt Roastings and free bourbon for minors! Folks can't just go indiscriminately roasting Hutts. It's against municipal ordinances in some places, I'm sure! You have to make sure all the right people have their palms greased before you can do something like that! And as for bourbon for minors, clearly, there would be a lot of angry parents if the Entmoot President openly called for such! My policy of discrete permisiveness and hypocrisy is an age old, time honored method of dealing with the issue.

As for the issue of my first decision upon obtaining office, the answer was not evasive at all! My first decision will be to make no hasty decisions!

Read my lips: NO HASTY DECISIONS!

This is a policy that should befit the President of the Entmoot.

Now, I urge all of the voters to hurry up and vote (for me!)as soon as the polls open tomorrow!

bmilder may keep polls open until November 7th, so watch this thread, and my signature for further developments.

Also look for new ELECTION CAM views, special campaign coverage, and much more in the days ahead!

Election debate

Gilthalion, how do you have time for all this? I barely have time to come here twice a week...

After carefully considering the respective positions of the candidates, their probable motives and intelligence, and their answers to certain vital concerns of the press, I have come to the conclusion that the best leader (out of those three) for our beloved ENTMOOT is....

I'm not sure. I have to think about this some more. Carry on with the debate!

(Can I pose a question???)

Re: Election debate

Je ne parle pas français.

Mais je parle la Vérité!

Et je refuse au pander Ã* la voix française de langage, puisque j'ai cela verrouillé vers le haut de de toute façon.

Liberté! Égalité! Gilthalion!

The truth Elanor, is that I have to MAKE time for ENTMOOT. I would estimate that I have virtually doubled the amount of time I spend online since I stumbled across the TOLKIEN TRAIL.

Actually, in the beginning, I was researching a project and responces here convinced me of the feasibility of it and so THE HOBBIT reading I did at Barnes & Noble came to pass. This should lead to a reading of each of the LORD OF THE RINGS books in the weeks prior to the release of each film. I'm really looking forward to that.

Since then, I became embroiled in a debate or two, got involved with the RPGs and such, started a Tolkien Fan Novel, learned about ICQs, practiced my HTML and audio/graphic editing and, in general, have found a great way to unwind from all of the things that I do in real life.

ENTMOOT has been a focus of my hobbies lately. As the campaign continues, look for exciting new adventures and promises, promises, promises! I may even keep some of them!

Re: Election debate

Now I understand how Al Gore feels! You work, you sweat, you slave all your life to prepare for the Presidency, and some guy comes along and folks like him because he spells his name with all caps!

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT

All right, I've now switched my vote to Gil based purely on the coolness of his banner. Anyone with the time and patience to actually do something like that deserves a vote.
