Bmilder to sell Entmoot.com

In this announcement, bmilder says he will sell the Entmoot message board to a current member of this board, who will remain anonymous until the deal is complete.

He mentions that the new owner has "some radical changes in store for the community." Bmilder will keep the Tolkien Trail website.

What are your comments and thoughts on the new, future board ownership? What do you think the "drastic changes" will be?

Personally, I hope the site retains its ties to the Tolkien Trail site.

I think the drastic change might involve some minor advertising on the site like the fairly inoffensive Google text ads. After all, the new owner will probably want to cover his cost of buying the site and/or server costs.

Or maybe he will invest the money for the sheer awesomeness of owning one of the greatest message boards on the internet.

I hope bmilder continues to post here now and then. Now that he doesn't have to deal with board maintenance, maybe he'll have more time for mooting!

I would point out, Nurvi, that this is the last day of March, i.e. tomorrow is April 1st, i.e. April Fool's Day, and since the announcement seems to have been posted today, I'm betting this is AFD fun.

Yeah! Wow! This is big. I'd like to thank SGH for pointing the announcement out to me.
I have my suspicions as to who it might be, but I'm not telling anyone, partially because I'm probably wrong and I'll look like a fool if I told you. Hmm...
I wonder when Ben decided this? Hmmm....

Yeah, maybe. But it makes you wonder when half of the administrators are on at once. That's not happened since the Upgrade.

I don't know...seems kind of early for such a thing. I don't know what to think. Time will tell.

Quite so, my dear, quite so.

TB (O.o), it makes great sense to have a lot of moddies on, if the Grand Wool is being pulled over our eyes, methinks.

Since when have any of you ever known Ben to ever be an active participant in any of the past jokes? I have been here for a long time and seen a lot of jokes, but never have I seen Ben in any of them.

Well, what if I'm wrong? Then I'll be very upset for being fooled. If I'm right, I'll be very upset for not being fooled.
Anyway, we'll find out, but I just can't dismiss this as non-legit.

I actually just came on to post my comments on the matter, as SGH happened to see me online and wasn't sure if I knew. I don't get on as much anymore, but I just want to say thanks for a great run, Ben! You put together a great board, and here's to its having many more years of continued success! Don't know any of the details yet, but I hope the new owner will run it in keeping with its traditions, etc.

This is actually kind of exciting -- changes?

Are you selling it to your brother, Ben?

Don't give him a family discount! Make him PAY! Bleed him dry! Bwahahahaha!!
(just teasin' you, Tristan!)

(I hope this is an April Fool's joke - I can't imagine the Moot with another owner )

The only way I'll be OK with this is if you sell it to Hobbit and he eliminates the 90-second rule!

Bmilder has his own life to live, R*an. He's got to do what he's got to do.

But I too really, really thank-you for the great job you've done in running this website, bmilder.
