Maybe we should, but we haven't made a practice of it yet - the pre-emptive banning of suspected spamvertisers. Unless we notice a name that is overtly inappropriate.

OTOH - I'm knocking down maybe 10-12 per day myself - I just started "physically removing" at some point - so even the other mods don't have to see the trash lying around.

Yeesh, you guys seem to need an aresnal to keep them back. Even on my out of the way GAMING board they seem to come roaring at us. It's crazy like. And there is one trying to pedal online viagra in GM now.

AND Pamelanders wants to show us pictures of her. I doubt they are church pictures either.

I know, but the post almost seemed like..."www.entmoot.tolkientrail.com" and "One Ring Musical" were plug-in terms that a spambot could've pulled off of the page...it was very strange.

Yeah with that kind of attack, the bot tries to start a discussion, and then goes back in a few days later and edits the post to include the usual links. It actually worked here when a bot posted about getting a private message error. They're getting very sophisticated.
