There is quite a lot of good stories. One has to register to be able to read them - but I think it is worth it.

There is also OSA www.scribeoz.com, but it is a site for adults - you are warned.

And "West of the Moon" contains exclusively hobbit stories...

oh I've got shortcuts on my computer to all of them! I even submitted a fanfic to Open Scrolls over a year ago. I never finsihed it (only because the darn thing keeps evolving in my head!)

Without trying to pout to much, and in an effort to make a shameless plug for my own fan-fiction--Would someone please read my fan-fic in this forum (Aw, heck, this has no name)? I really wish I'd given it a name, because the present one attracts no readers. Yet if some brave soul would but read the first chapter and tell me what they think, I would greatly appreciate it. I've come to the end of the story in my writing, but am loathe to post the final chapters without hearing some feedback on the rest of it. I hope--because I've been working on this stupid story for two years now--that it's not complete crap, but even my sister, who I trade chapters with now and again for comment and review, won't read it and tell me what she thinks. Anyone; please?

I have been reading it since you put it up after the RPG floundered. I've just not been daring enough to comment on it in the thread fearing I'd mess up the flow with my comments. Frankly, I've actually been waiting until you would finish so I could comment how much I enjoyed reading it.

As I've said, I quite like it. Admittingly it's been a while since I read the beginning (must be when the RPG was still running) so my memory of that is a bit hazy. But I've been quite happy to see you didn't abandon the story. I found the way you developed the relationship between Demaetor and Amariel quite moving.

I guess I hadn't thought of people's posting interfering with 'the flow'. Perhaps I should start a discussion thread.....? Anyway, if the mods have a problem with it, or if there's really not enough discussion going on to warrant a thread, they can get rid of it.

Getting the itch again. Well... the itch never went away, but it's getting stronger. I'm starting to jot down notes and things. It's the whole "time" thing. But maybe I'm about to start making it happen.

I haven't actually written anything all year, fanfic or otherwise. (The rare RPG-post here and there doesn't really count.) But there's one fanfic I still think about and expand in my mind. Not sure if it'll ever get down on paper. It's turning out to be quite vast.

But I've recently started writing again on a story-swap and I find I haven't lost it yet. So who knows, when my time is a little less in demand and I've ditched this last energy-sapping infection, fanfic time may come again.

Yes - those time demands. Sometimes it's jarring for us to think that we'll be empty-nesters in about 6-1/2 years. I should get a bit more time for hobbies then. But I hope I don't have to wait so long!

I've been working on my own original stuff quite a bit, but I'd really like to re-read The Silmarillion and write some fanfics about those characters. There's just so much potential! (But I'm hella busy with school/work so it probably won't happen anytime soon.)
