I know the discussion in here stopped some time ago, but I have to say that I love Moulin Rouge.

I'm proud of beeing obsessed with Moulin Rouge. Watched it like 20 times (I have the DVD since April 2002).

I have watched it about 3 gazillion times and each time I hope that Satine doesn't die! but it is never going to go my way, huh??? Hopefully I can go to France sometime and go to the actual Moulin Rouge.... That'd be soooo COOOOOLLLL!!

Lady of Darkness, I agree re: Kidman's performance being Oscar-worthy - it's one of my favourite performances in the musical genre, and I've seen a lot of musicals. However, I can't really comment on last year's Best Actress Oscar since I never ended up seeing Monster's Ball...

It's true, though, that musicals are often the genre that is most demanding of the actors involved.

the really annoying thing is that she sounds GOOD singing, while alot of actors DON'T! I mean, she has a GORGEOUS voice. I mean, I sing also, and like everyone I know sings, and they all say that she has a beautiful voice. dude, someone should smack some people upside their heads!! now if I can find my bow and sword, maybe we can fix the evilness of the world.....
