Ooooh....

These are just the ones that come off the top of my head...

Lord of the Rings
Field of Dreams
A League of Their Own
The Lion King
The Wizard of Oz
Doctor Zhivago
Titanic (okay...I'm a sap...)
A Christmas Story (kind of a special tradition for me and the boyfriend...)
The Muppet Movie
It's a Wonderful Life
Scrooge (the 1951 version of "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim)
the first three Star Wars movies

There are more, I just can't think of them right now...

Actually, I'm not much of a Kubrick fan, and I am ashamed. I didn't like 2001 and haven't seen the end of Clockwork Orange.

Oh yeah. How can it not be tradition in everyone's household?

I just remembered another christmas movie that I have to watch every year: Scrooged with Bill Murray because Bill Murray is wonderful.

Ok, I was prepared to hate that movie, but it was FUN!!!

As for Monty Python and the Holy Grail and A Fish Called Wanda, they have a special significance for me, because when my now step-dad was courting my mother, the first thing he got me was Grail and the first thing he got my mother was Wanda. Sniff. Tear.

Anyways, I could watch anything by Christopher Guest CONSTANTLY!!! We watched Waiting for Guffman last night and I was thrilled.

Do you mean over and over again in a row and not get sick of them? Or do you mean that you like the movie so much you watch it repeatedly?
If the second is true:

I like fun movies;

Pirates of the Caribbean
Indiana Jones (esp. The Last Crusade)

Lot's more. Can't think right now. I feel like my brain is stuffed. What is with me?

Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. They are just so wonderful! I can watch them even more than movies like Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility (but those might also qualify for this list). Ah yes, and the Horatio Hornblower miniseries.

Definitely those! And Anne of Green Gables! I've always loved those movies.

I used to love watching my favorite movies over and over again. That's why I now cannot stand watching LotR. I can't stand the thought of it anyway. I mostly only like watching funny movies over and over again.

There are quite a few movies that have withstood the test of time and multiple watchings with me. It depends on my genre mood of course, I can toss any one of these into the DVD player.

Comedy:
Monty Python & the Holy Grail
Yellowbeard
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
Strange Brew
A Knight's Tale

War:
Cross of Iron
Stalingrad (1993 German release)
Big Red One (Directors cut)
The Longest Day
Kokoda
Patton
Tora Tora Tora
Band of Brothers
Tour of Duty (TV series)

Wartime Black Comedy:
Kelly's Heroes
Catch-22
M.A.S.H.

Western:
Last Train from Gun Hill
The Searchers
Dead Man (1997 Jim Jarmusch film starring Johnny Depp)
The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly
High Plains Drifter
Lonesome Dove - The Outlaw Years (2nd season of TV series)

Some of my Classics:
The Big Sleep
Maltese Falcon
Casablanca (just about any Humphrey Bogart film really)
Farewell My Lovely (starring Robert Mitchum)
55 Days in Peking
Northside 777
Emperor of the North Pole
Chinatown
The Bourne Trilogy

...the list could go on...

"Best in Show" is great!

I've got to see "A Mighty Wind" and "Waiting for Guffman" because I've heard they're great, too.
