I noticed it in the map, Spock. In the map I saw it's just the way from Harad to Gondor....

Carach Angren it is... It's just a passage though, not a road, isn't it?

’Wild Men go quick on feet,’ said Ghân. ‘way is wide for four horses in Stonewain Valley yonder,’ he waved his hand southwards; ‘but narrow at beginning and end. Wild Man could walk from here to Dîn between sunrise and noon.’

‘Then we must allow at least seven hours for the leaders,’ said Éomer; ‘but we must reckon rather on some ten hours for all. Things unforeseen may hinder us, and if our host is all strung out, it well be long ere it can be set in order when we issue from the hills. What is the hour now?’
that took me forever to find, it had better be right. lol.

The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave, I will leave the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years failing.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices in the lost Isle calling,
In Eresëa, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not: land of my people forever!”

MOST EXCELLENT! That's the doggedness we need on trivia.

You go.

Was it naming Sam's children to him and telling him he will be Mayor.

( the words might be a little wrong, but I have only a Norwegian book) and it was directed to Sam.

What suggestion made Imrahil under the last counsel of war, which Gandalf was very much against?(clumsy sentence?)

I suppose it was retrieting and fortifying in Minas Tirith... or any other fort?

Right - no fortifying, but waiting till Sauron attacks, not being able to fight back?

My guess would be:

"'Then you would have us retreat to Minas Tirith, or Dol Amroth, or to Dunharrow, and there sit like children on sand-castles when the tide is flowing?' said Imrahil"

looks like there are two different answers to this, I didn't remember that one.
the one I am looking for is a suggestion made of Imrahil about how to attack Mordor.

ok, in that case, I give it a final go, the only other thing I could think of or find was this:

Quote:
...Imrahil suddenly laughed aloud. 'Surely,' he cried, 'this is the greatest jest in all the history of Gondor: that we should ride with seven thousands, scarce as many as the vanguard of its army in the days of its power, to assail the mountains and the impenetrable gate of the Black Land! So might a child threaten a mail-clad knight with a bow of string and a green willow! if the Dark Lord knows so much as you say, Mithrandir, will he not rather smile than fear, and with his little finger crush us as a fly that tries to sting him?'

'No, he will not try to trap the fly and take the sting,' said Gandalf. 'And there are names among us that are worth more than a thousand mail-clad knights apiece. No, he will not smile.'
