Awww

This made me miss my 1000 post post-ing. I was around 980 something, but than when I come back it was fixed (mostly; good enough, no need to do anything). I'm now at 1014 when my real count is 1018. I think I'll dig up #1000 and edit it .

This time I think it's because "The Anything Post" and "The Previous Poster" were deleted.

hmm that would account for some of the difference. do those ones still come up in the searchfor all posts then? but befoe eveything went tits up im sure i was in the 900's. but that still doesnt explain why mine went down by about 50 again.

Posts from deleted threads are gone from everywhere. Not a trace to be found AFAIK. Closed ones come up in the 'all posts' list though.

Maybe they deleted another old thread?

Have I ever posted in those threads?

My post count is down by about forty now... And I'm not even here enough anymore to fix it the old fashion way!

I am so not used to waiting for a vacation to end... Why oh why can my mom not get the Internet at home!

They must've. I lost about 20 posts again, well, a few days ago. (maybe the "^confused about posting" thread was deleted). So I passed 1000. again!!!!!!

woo hoo that should count as passing 2000.

Sorry, I'm new to this thread, but you say there's a way of FIXING that? What is it?

Then it can't be because of deleted posts because when I do a search for all posts, I get the actual number of my posts not the screwed-up one!

Mine seems fine. I'm not going to read all of this. What did I do now?
I already deleted one of my websites without going on it.
You want me to tell you about a nice Twilight Zone scenario this would make?

Sorry. My way of fixing it would be obsessive posting. It keeps my post count somewhere near what it should be. And it works well enough for me...

It won't give me back those 40 posts that are still missing, though.

You and your posting....

I've missed your obsessiveness over this break...

Yeah, I'm not really worrying about my post count anymore, 'cause it's a lot closer to the truth, just four or five under...

Admins, has anything been done about this glitch yet? (Sorry if you've already answered such a question, I can't read the whole thread).

Yep. We've studied it carefully, and I think there's not major problem with it. The search engine has never been 100% accurate, and besides there are duplicates of lot of posts in the Mod's forum: we sometimes copy threads before we edit or delete something in order to keep registry of all...

Anyway, Hanza's problem seems to be different. Perhaps someone accidentally altered her postcount, but none of us can recall doing it

So, the only solution I can find is to fiddle with it again to restore it to what her search engine says.

Have you read the announcement about the 1000 posts threads?
