OK, just finished Princess Bride - or at least the story part of it (I skimmed thru the "notes") - hilarious! But what in the world happens at the end? (I got the 30th edition) What's with this faceless guy and falling off the cliff and a c-section?!?!

I am currently reading nothing... looking for suggestions I just finished Revenge of the Sith, I like books like... Beowulf, Di Vinci Code, Lord of the Rings(duh), books by Alex Garland, works by Edger Alan Poe, Dean R. Koontz, most "Classic" litterature like Catcher and the Rye, and James Joyce... So anyone got any good books they read lately that might be interesting!?

I was thinking of buying Memoirs of a Geisha, the Book of Genji, or House of Leaves. Anyone know anything good about these?

If you liked the Da Vinci Code, I suggest reading Umberto Eco

Ok ok so I guess I was probably too young, and too inexperienced a reader at age 14. That was the cause of my failure. But among the older and more skilled readers there's no excuse for not getting through the Silmarillion. It's just as easy to read and get into as LotR. God, how did I live so long in ignorance? Alas, alas...

IMO, the Sil is a huge effort in determination. I read it once and could never lift that tome again. :-)

Yeah, it's not exactly an easy read. I was exaggerating. Personally I hope to read it many times though- so I can figure out all the things I'm missing this time.

Yeah, as a background and reference for things mentioned it's great. However, once read it should last you for years.

Bought and finished last volume of Gravitation today. and . Happy because it's over, sad because it's over. Well, heh heh, on to the remixes now?! Just kidding. Or so you think. Or so I'd like you to believe. No, really.

Alright out of the gutter. Back to the Silmarillion.

I couldn't read the Sil when I was younger, tried but couldn't get through it without falling asleep...but this last winter I found it an easy read...weird, time and a less jauntice eye, perhaps?

I'm reading the Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix. Anyone else read them? I'm up to Grim Tuesday - not sure what I think so far, but I'm enjoying them.

I think there's a thread about these. Anyway, I read the first one, Monday, and I liked it but not enough to find the next ones. Is the second one good?
