New Years Resolutions

What are yours?

I resolved to read 25 extra-curricular books this year, but then I decided to challenge myself and aim for 50.

A hefty goal, Gwaimir. May God bless your endeavors .

My New Years Resolution is to submit one of my books to publishers this summer, and hopefully have it published this year. If I'm to give it to publishers, though, I'll have to have certain folks of mine preview it and offer constructive criticism to support my editing process. They tend to take a while at reading things because of time constraints, so I hope that that doesn't delay things much.

If it does get published, make sure you let me know, so I can read it.

1 down, 49 to go...

Oh, the usual: quit smoking, do more exercise, eat better.

Same time next year?

1. Extend my full voice range up to the Tenor C (it's currently at the F/G below that C)
2. Start catching up with my online RPGs on the weekends.
3. Develop better relative pitch-sense.
4. Pass my audition and get into the voice/music education program at my college.
5. Get all of my piano students reading real sheet music by the end of the year.
6. Compose 10 songs on the piano.
7. Learn to play a chromatic 2-octave scale on the soprano recorder.
8. Play 1 song every day on the piano that I haven't seen before to improve my sight reading.
9. Work on vocal sight reading every night before bed, and before breakfast.
10. Get 3,500 rooms written for the MUD I'm building.
11. Read one voice/choral/conducting/music theory book from the college library every single month.

And that about sums up my goals .

MUD sounds intriguing; what sort of a MUD is it?

You should post some audio files of your singing.

Hm, New Year resolutions...

1. Get my driver's licence. I got the theoretical one last year, but I really should start with lessons for on the practical one.

2. Get a job in the environmental field. I have a job now and it's a nice one, but I really like to start working in the field of my studies before I get hopelessly behind on the legislation.

3. More exercising. I've got more muscle now and it's really coming in handy, but I should work on speed and reflexes. Maybe start doing some old karate exercises once in a while. Dad promised to hold the makiwara for me. Oh, he'll regret so soon...

Ironically about the same resolutions as last year. Sort of.

So who managed to meet his resolutions from last year, I wonder?

We really have a lot of reading at school here, so I've modified my resolution into 2:

1) Read 25 extra-curricular books.
2) Read 50 extra-curricular books.

This way, I can have the satisfaction of completing one of the goals, but still have the drive to go on and do more.

It's a fantasy mud based off a universe I've created called Lux Aeterna, centered around the land of Aerith. I couldn't even begin to explain a tenth of it here... I may post up a history of the land, and some of the work I've done for it already on the writer's forum if anyone else is interested in reading about it.

We actually have a site up already: http://luxmud.org although the MUD itself isn't open to players persay... right now we're still in very early stages of building and coding .

As for audio files of me singing... I'm not much good . Really I'm not very musically talented... I just have a major burning desire to be a music teacher... we'll see how it turns out.
