Happy Birthday Entmoot!!!

One year ago today, on September 18, 1999, I started this board after teaming up with Darth Tater from the Jedi Council. The original title was "Benjamin's Tolkien Board." (Exciting, huh? ) That night, I tapped one of my friends from a MUD, Ryan6233, to be the first moderator, since Tater wasn't online. Later Tater and Ryan (later demoted) were promoted to admin over a board that was largely empty. Today, we have 442 members and a strong base of regular posters.

What is most striking to me is that in just two months, we have jumped from 360 members to 442!

Wow, has it really been a year? It's amazing. That means I've only known Ben for a little over a year, and the rest of you for even less.

Entmoot sure has changed, and not just visually. The majority of original posters are no longer here (remember hernalt the long poster ) and we have a whole new wave of members! I'm looking forward to another great year of Entmoot!

"Rain of Terror".....ahh yes, that is when I first realized what a great speller you were. I remember that forum. I was very curious to know what it was all about. It was the first time I encountered a "private" forum. Then once I got in, none of it made any sense. I thought, "how lame". :lol:

I remember when me and Ben first met at the JC. There was a little LOTR thread going, and I asked if anyone knew any good LOTR web pages. Ben pointed me to theonering.net, and I said "Thanks bmilder, you're my new best friend!" He said I should e-mail him then and a few days later this place showed up
