I have to do an essay on a certain topic concerning the "Inklings" for school. If any of you have an opinion, I'd like to hear whether or not you think C.S. Lewis' participation in that group influenced his writing. Thanks for your comments.

Oh absolutely:

"You have said that if it hadn't been for the friendship between Tolkien and Lewis, the world would likely never have seen The Narnia Chronicles and The Lord of the Rings." Chris Armstrong, in an interview he conducted with Colin Duriez.

Here as well is more proof:

"The first book, Out of the Silent Planet, was apparently written following a conversation with his friend J. R. R. Tolkien about these trends; Lewis agreed to write a "space travel" story and Tolkien a "time travel" one..."
