Hmmm, yeah. I have a very firm policy of no work email, no work phone, no work nothing.
Of course that doesn't work at all while I still have a thesis to finish and a new course book to write for next school year.  I hope you did get to enjoy some local flora and fauna?

Yeah, normally I'm very happy when I can go off the internet during the summer holidays, but this time it could not be helped.
The wildlife was cooperative, mostly. I saw lots of pretty butterflies, of which I have been able to just photograph one. And we put up a remote wildlife camera in the viscinity and we saw lots of wild boar (including babies!) a fox or two and tortoises. Precious few frogs, though, but we didn't spend as much time at the river. |

Haha, I'm surprised you managed to get at least one shot. My boyfriend and I were in a butterfly hothouse and he kept trying to take a good picture but he didn't manage one.
That footage from the wildlife camera sounds amazing though!

Sort of. Next year March probably, but we have lots of other things to discuss first. Such as: where are we going to live? His job won't allow him to live in my city, but I don't want to move too far away as my entire social and work life is centred here. So that's one thing we need to work out first.

One of my colleagues dreamt she was at my wedding where I was hugely pregnant and she congratulated me on my pregnancy. To which I replied rather stricken that I wasn't pregnant... I do hope this is a meaningless dream!
 almost Christmas. The top post was during my summer holiday. That's just very very sad. Anyone doing anything fun over Christmas break?

There's always a lot of griping when my family gets together. And almost always there's a fight between someone. And I'm more than likely going to start hearing the "Have kids because your getting too old" speech again. And there's probably going to be griping because my husband isn't coming because he has to work and my step mom is going to try to pull the "He must not like us" card again. Just a lot of drama and stress when we have family get togethers. Not to mention I don't know my stepmom's daughter at all and I've only met her twice in the 21 years since my parents have been married

Sounds like fun. If it's so stressful can't you just say you don't want to come?
Or make up an excuse about why you can't come? My family fortunately doesn't do stuff like that. There are some tensions, but since a couple of years no one sleeps over anymore and do the obligated cheerful breakfast before going home. People going straight home after dinner in a restaurant makes a LOT of difference in the tension department.
