So how has 2013 been for you L.A. Lotesse? I's been a mixed bag here for me so far, but we still have the last quarter to go. It will be the decider.

Some areas in central Oslo are best avoided at night, especially taxi queues when restaurants have just closed at 3 a.m. and people are drunk and want to be at the front of the queue. There have been quarrels and even occasional fatalities in those situations.

I don't consider the station area particularly dangerous, especially not before midnight. It's good that she doesn't know how many times I've caught the last train home ...

Yeah, sometimes it's better that way. I remember the last trip my sister and family went on which turned a bit nightmarish, and as she was relaying all the horrors on the phone, she closed off with "And if gran asks, everything's fine here."

Snuck up on me, but today is my 10-year Anniversary at Entmoot.

* Throws a High Royal Party in the Teacup Cafe*

For awhile, I had hoped to get in a posting flurry, and maybe reach 10K posts for the occasion - but THAT didn't happen. The rest of you are so lucky!

Happy Entmoot decade, Val!

You can get your 'Entmoot old geezer' pass and customary cane to shake at young whippersnappers at the kitchendoor.

Well, you know, the canes are from a nice, good quality wood, sourced locally and sustainably from Entwood. But it still takes some time to convince Treebeard to let go of it.

Nice drawing by the way. I always liked art nouveau but I haven't figured it out yet how to draw it myself.

Has a bit of a modern Japanese feel to it.

Hehehe, it just reminds me of those old geisha drawings, but with a modern twist.

You'd know, I'm not so learned in Japanese art...

Hm, been a while since I digested anything here. *has tea and cookies*

Watched A Thousand Words yesterday. Not bad.

I dropped an ikea table on my foot yesterday. That was bad. Can't really walk too much on it now. Never knew those things could be so dangerous

Those small ones that cost 5 euros :P
I wore shoes today I've been teaching on socks for the past couple of days.

If it cost 5 euros, it can't have been that big, can it? I was expecting dinner table proportions. That said, even the little ones can be nasty, I expect. My sister broke a foot-bone once by dropping a jar of chocolate paste on it. As often with injuries, she blamed me.

Does the floor in your school have floor heating?

No, it doesn't. But I wore double socks, plus school is usually quite hot. In my classroom it is anyway.
And it landed point down on my foot, so it didn't really have to be heavy.

Point down, ouch. Very Murphy, just like the brad slice will always fall butter-side down, so will the heavy things fall with the point first.

Ever heard of home socks? They're this thick wooly socks with tiny anti-slip patches below. Pretty useful if you want to walk on socks when it isn't too warm.
