X-wing lift-off!

Worth checking out, I think. Someone not only built a giant, half-scale X-wing with real engines, but they launched it as well!

Pity the flight was on the rather very short side...

Very cool. But yes, certainly insane. Why waste all of that time as well as money? Why not work out all of the math on paper to see if it would work before wasting all of the time as well as money? What, were they just not sure about their math? Within that case, I would have tried for some more plausible science fictiony design for a ship.

People need hobbies, I suppose. Maybe sending it up was an after-thought, which would explain the relative week construction. Then again, they may very well rebuild a stronger version and send it up again. Several pieces survived.

That whole crash thing kind of sucked for them. They thing didnt seem to gainly when it was on the ground, and when they said that they were going to try and open the wings in the air, I knew something bad was gonna happen. I really hope they'll try again with better materials, and may fasten everything together a little more. But I dont think that opening the wings mid-flight is going to go very well. Maybe though, just maybe......

Because it was fun, I suppose.

That was really cool! It's good they didn't man the model (which would've been possible at that scale).

Wow, that was pretty great! However...I'm waiting for the new model until I climb into one of those . Poor Porkins, indeed!
