I think I'm going to see it for a second time digitally on Sunday in Elizabeth (or something like that). I already say Episode 1 digitally. And yes, I do mean digitally in a theatre and not on dvd (well, I also saw it on DVD). It was new technology being tested out. DLP by texas instruments. Only a couple theatres showed it in NYC, California, and New Jersey. Tater doesn't believe me, but I have the proof scaned in.

Saw the film three times on opening day. Full review pending (this one's going to be LONG).

Overall, very very impressed. And Yoda got cheers at every show... many cheers...

And then some gripes.... :(

A friend of mine emailed me about the usual...loved the lightsabrefest and the Yoda sequence.

However, he did ask an interesting question:

Wouldn't it have been easier to pull Anie an Obi Wan off from under the falling piece of metal than to let it levitate like that?

Yeah, but it took a while for Yoda to completely control the fall of the pillar. If he'd done the same to the two jedi, the pillar might have already landed on them.

You got a point there, BoP. Darned Anakin, it's all his fault; and Jar Jar's.

Well of course. . .Anakin and Jar Jar. I knew Jar Jar would cause problems from the start!!! Of course, some of the blame goes to Senator Palpatine. . .

Yoda is the best.

Actually a lot more blame should fall on Amidala circa Episode 1, but of course everyone wants to blame jar jar.

After seeing it for a 5th time : half an hour ago, I am inclined to put the blame on planet Naboo's people.

Here's a list:
1. Palpatine - nuff said
2. Padme - Anakin's emotional distraction
3. Jar Jar - through Palpatine's minipulations of Gungan and Naboo hatred of Federation machinations, gave his fellow Nabooan the emergency powers on a silver platter.

Ah c'mon! Quit picking on Jar Jar.

It's PALPATINE'S fault! Just because jar jar was susceptible (and can you blame him? remember how charasmatic palpatine is, and how new the senatorial role is to jar jar.) to sidious' machinations does not make him any more or less responsible for the war. If not Jar Jar, it would have been somebody else.

Oh, and blame some of the Jedi as well. Especially that blue guy with the dangly bits that make me queasy. The stagnation of the Jedi is truly a terrifying sight to behold, when the darkness in upon them and they can not see past the veil.

Ai! Ai! Our bee-u-tiful friendship is forevermore ruined! I shall spit upon your name and forevermore cast my boggies in your direction....

That's okay. I'm not a fan or anything, I just see him for what he is. The fall guy for Ep 1. Anyway, people are usually so quick to jump on the "I hate..." bandwagon, it just bugs me. <google eyes>

My mistake. Put Boss Nass at number 3 and shove Jar Jar down to no. 4. Since he was head Boss (dictator) of the gungans, it's his fault Jar Jar got there instead of someone else. But I think Jar JAr should at least be tormented with the knowledge of what has happened since it was his call. just the same.

Ah, I just have to agree with people here. . .it's the people of Naboo in general what cause problems. . .and of course Palpatine, but that goes without saying. And the Jedi counsel, for a lot of things.
