The angry letters and commentary at the bottom are even better than the column itself.

I hated titanic it was just so repetitive but it cud be improved by of course lightsaber battles and Jar-Jar being chased around the decks by Darth Vader with a lightsaber and of course the finale when he drowns all the time saying "How wude"

Apart from Star Wars being a little formulaic in its boy-meets-girl-but-must-destroy-the-most-evil-man-in-the-universe narrative (but was good anyway), I was frankly appalled that a film-maker thought there was room for one more '70s disaster movie with a plot as predictable as Wile E Coyote falling of another cliff, backed up by extensive cliches and a derivative soundtrack that gets 0 Babylons on anyone's scale. In a word, shite, if that will get through the language checker. But I guess Kate Winslet getting her kit off had to help.

Good gravy, did this list really get 4 pages of posts? You like me, you really like me!

I still hate Titanic, however.

For the record:

Err.. is it really fair to compair an older movie in the romance genre to a brand new action film and decide which is better?
The earlier Star Wars was older than Titanic by far. But Star Wars was still better .

What?! You mean some people still need reasons why Star Wars is better than Titanic?

Why not? I bet that'd be a hit. People would get to see both Jack AND Jar-Jar die!

Yanno, I'd be willing to pay money to see both of 'em die in the same movie.

(I refused to pay to see Titanic - checked it out at the library.)

On a Star Wars forum, you all aren't very likely to find much argument as to which is better- Titanic or Star Wars. If you seek out a Titanic loving forum, you will find the discussion a good deal hotter though, I expect.

Ah yes, one other thing. I think it wouldn't be very great for Jar Jar to die. I really didn't like him in Episode 1 much; he didn't add much and did ruin the Gungan battle scene, but he would do more harm in death then in life. You see, can you imagine how lame it would look to show the main characters weeping over Jar Jar's death? That would be awful! It would mess with the good characters of Episode 2. Even if you hate Jar Jar, you can't hate him so much that you'd mess up Episode 3 to see him die .

Oh, yeah? You just try saying that in a Jar-Jar haters' forum, which is far more ruthless than our own.

I wouldn't want Jar-Jar to die in Episode 3 either, although I didn't like him and it DID seem like he did his best to try to ruin Episode 1. The sad thing is, he *might* die, since he doesn't have to appear later on.

But I wouldn't really mind so much if he had died in Titanic, because how could he ruin a movie that's already totally messed up?

I wouldn't mind him just not showing up in Ep. III. They can just make a reference to him by saying that all the gungans were exterminated.

But I think he'll still be there coz they can still make money from all the Jar Jar haters out there who'd buy Jar Jar toys just to throw 'em around or use them as effigies(sp?).

Now there's a scene that might've improved the quality of Titanic.

LOL! That would be funny. Adding in a scene like that into Titanic also would probably also increase the number of people who like the movie by quite a lot . . .

If they'd put that in, I could be persuaded to see Titanic again. I still wouldn't pay to see it......

Actually, I think that if you move any bad Star Wars scene into Titanic, the overall quality of both films will increase.

Go to http://www.slobsquad.co.uk/files/index.html and right-click "Save As" on either the high or low res version of Tie-Tanic. Fairly classic bit of spoofdom... if you can spare the time.
