You got the book, huh? This time 'round I've been disciplined, and have witheld from getting the book; last time just ruined the movie... Let's hope I hold out for another, what, 3 weeks....

It wasn't reading the book that ruined ep1. It was the kiddie marketing and money-grubbing commercialism that abandoned the true fans. (some of us are members of the Third Circle of the Secret Order of the Emperor -- the tattoo really impresses the girls)
But anyway, I hope Lucas redeems himself on this one

Yes, yes, I know that. But I *like* the movie, even if everyone else has jumped onto the anti-lucas bandwagon, very fashionable, don't ya know?

I meant, that the ending pissed me off, in the book, as well as the movie, whereby Anni accidentally took out the space station thingy, and the droids conveniently stopped fighting.

Ooh.... *impressed look* secret society tattoo... Aah.....

I always thought that was an unconscious use of the Force by Anakin. Weren't they attacking the space station because it controlled the droids?

Probably, but did he have to say, "Oops" in such an idiotic fashion? That's the only problem I have with the movie really.

"Convenient Plot Device."

Yes, I know that, and I didn't like it.

Why not? (and don't just say "convenient plot device" again)

quote: "Oops!" Hence the word unconscious.

Well, that combined with "oops" just seemed like a series of "accidents". (If they'd replaced the "oops" with maybe a shocked look or something, then I probably would have liked it better. It just seems to make it a bit anti-climatic.) This is just my personal feeling on it. I think, that maybe, they should have made it a little bit harder to defeat the greedy corporation....

Regarding the "Oops", maybe they could have been a little more obvious in the subconscious usage of the force?

Well if you buy into the 'force helped him do it' theory, I really enjoyed the way the Trade Federation was set up. The Irrationality of Rational systems.

I agree, though it was emphisized regarding his ability to race Pods. I still agree though.

It's pretty sure that I'm not going to get to see the movie until a week after it comes out. My whole family likes to skip the crowded theater bit.

Wow!! I readed the book and the movie is gonna be good, the battle sence is cool, the love sences are cool, Obi-wan Kenobi and Annie have changed a lot. It's is so good, and Jar Jar Binks is better in this movie. The ending is big shock too. Well it's highly recommend to see.

I have my 12:01 am ticket and my 9:30pm ticket. Yes - I'm going to see it twice on opening day - just Like I did with Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.

I also agree - I hope it's better than EP1. It can't be much worse. Star Wars (ep4) original aka "A New Hope" is still the best. I had a lot of problems with EP1 once I sat down to watch it on the "small screen" - mainly the dialog. I just saw a new preview that had a lot more dialogue in it and sadly it doesn't seem like it's much better in EP2.

Don't misquote me. I never said I didn't like LotR. I just don't think it's as good of a movie as everyone else does. I gave it a 7.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Which is still above average.

I like Star Wars EP4 A New Hope the best out of the Star Wars. And most people agree that the Star Wars saga progressively got worse with each movie.

You think so? I personally think Empire Strikes Back is better than A New Hope. It's a bit darker, and a helluva lot more depressing.

Why does a good movie have to be depressing or dark? I have enough depression in my life - maybe that's why I like "A New Hope" better. I do like Empire Strike Back too - but Return of the Jedi was more where George Lucas started losing it. And the dialog in EP1 is really bad.

I'm gonna leave work an hour early on thursday (around 4 PM). That way I can watch it at around midnight PST! Woohoo!!

Anyway, posters of Ep. II have sprouted all over the place here; including the bus stops.
