I really hope the cut scenes contain more character development. It seems like too much of the movie is missing in the final cut. For instance - their trip from the Shire to Bree (somewhat), Bree to Rivendell - not to mention Gandalf's ride to Isengard. I think the cut scenes have to contain the character development - it would have slowed down the pace of the movie a little and the time frame would have made a little more sense.

I also hope it's not a DVD where the cut scenes are just shoved in the extras. I want it so I can watch the scenes in the movie as they should have been.

I'll be really upset if it just ends up to be more action scenes.

The latest reports I've heard say that the dvd version will be 4 1/2
hours long! I can't verify this however.

I hope they make the dvd the way they did T2: Judgment Day.

It had both the theatrical version and the special director's cut version so you can readily compare the effects on the plot.

I'm also quite interested in what PJ and probably some actors and the other screenwriters have to say throughout the feature; 'hope they do a good commentary audio track.
That way, we get to find out about some other easter eggs and possibly some other whatifs.
