Hmmmm, Tessar, are you acquainted with the idea of redemption?
The concept of self-sacrifice for the good of the world is in there, whereas a deal with the devil is not intrinsic. Voldemort made evil very nicely with his natural abilities and desire to domination. The Potterverse still required redemption. Are you along similar lines?
