What's your writing style?

I thought I'd start this, seeing as how it's appropriate to the thread! I'm a freeform writer, what'er you?

Dude, HTML doesn't work.

Here's just the text bit for mine, turns out I've already taken this test...

Quote:
You are a descriptive writer. An avid reader of Robert Frost, perhaps, you LOVE to use flowery words and use the paper and pen as your canvas and paintbrush. You prefer to paint a mental image rather than simply toy around with people's minds. A very inspired person, you love to be in nature and usually are a very outdoorsy type of person. A writer with a natural green thumb, perhaps?

I'm a Dark Writer.

Quote:
You are a dark writer. A fierce and loyal follower of Poe and the other gothic authors, you LOVE to instill a sense of revulsion and somewhat fear in your readers. You love to poke their brains with logic dealing with the darker side of the human mind and character. Truly surprising and a true individual, you'll do ANYTHING to create a scene.
Loyal follower of Poe. Love movies about Dracula, and desperately want to read the book. But the rest isn't really true...

Was the Romantic picture from Escaflowne?

Dude, you know your anime.

Anyway, I consider my second chapter to the Canayen bit 'dark'... Someone said that I scared the crap outta them with that scene. Ah well, it was more descriptive than dark, I suppose.

Not really. Haven't seen too much. The Escaflowne movie, most of the Escaflowne series (WAY better than the movie), Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (the sequel actually better than the original! ) Tekken (not too good), Fist of the North Star (*nods vigourously* that was a movie, yes indeed Can't deny that it was a movie ), and a few others.

BTW, both VHD and VHD:B ruled!

I have a feeling you'd like the anime 'Blood the Vampire'. Or maybe the videogame 'Bloodrayne'.

I presume you mean Blood the Last Vampire? I saw that, and meant to list it, but you know how it is with the halwitted...

Oh, so it still gives me a result if I leave an entire section blank? I'll try that...

Yes, exactly my problem. None of them fitted me, so I just had to choose the ones that came closest. And the ones that came closest definitely weren't me at all.

But you know what? The thing basically just tells you what you say. There are very few boxes that you can click, and it just says what you selected right back to you at the end.

Exactly. I just ended up looking at all possible results, and decided that Narrative and Freeform fit me best... or least, not as poorly as everything else.

That quiz was dumb! Only three questions, and the last one was really stupid! Anyway, I think we could describe our writing style without using the quiz!? I am descriptive. Not with a bunch of "visual"adjectives, but verbal attempts to describe feelings, or a state of mind. The words flow like water, then I spend several days subtracting and refining. (The computer is so wonderful for this!) Less is so much more, and concentration is potent! (for me) I like to talk "to" the reader. Of course, I am strictly non-fiction, but I suppose you would have the same style no matter what?

*scratches head* Yea, I guess it was kinda dumb, but I thought it matched me perfectly! I guess...well...erm...ok, just don't hurt me! I just like taking quizes 'cause it's fun to see wether or not they are right. And keep in mind that when I started this thread I was also REALLY bored...*smiles apologetically at 'Mooters*

Actually, the result that I got on the quiz didn't match what kind of writer I say I am. I got narrative writer, and most of the statements are false.

"Usually a writer of stories rather than poetry,"
Much of my work is poetry! I tend to find poetry easier than prose -- in poetry, the words "flow" from my mind to the paper in a way they never do with stories. I have gotten several poems published.

"you grew up reading
Shakespeare's less popular and heard of plays--like King Lear or the Henry series."
Not accurate; I've never read either. My favorite Shakespeare play is "The Tempest," and my favorite tragedy is "Julius Caesar."

"Your writing
contains a certain order and organization--be it chronological or otherwise."
Can't argue with that one.

"If you are to write poetry, it has to convey a logical (or perhaps unreal) story with some sort of order behind it."
My poems could only VERY rarely be described as having any real order to them!

Odd, most of the other authors here seemed to agree with the way the test described them. I think Freeform would fit me better, and possibly a bit of Classical, in the case of my poems.

And Faith, I agree that it's fun to see how accurate the quizzes are.

It got me dead wrong . But then, I answered the questions with only partial truth, because they didn't give any of the right options. They're severely limited by having so few options.

However, I don't think that particular quizz was extremely well done (Gets a shield to protect himself from getting pelted by pieces of paper).
