Gandalf A P.g.?!!!!!!

How did Fellowship of the Ring ever become a PG? I am 16 and I was terrified (please note this does not leave me open for ridicule about my cowardice! ) Several children in the audience all three times I went were really afraid. I mean, all that kiling, and stuff... I ask myself ...HOW?

How does everyone else feel about this "too low" rating?

Where I live it is PG-13.

Here in Cali, and i think the rest of the U.S., it's PG-13. That movie is so not PG material. I had nightmare's the first time i saw it, but i got over them after the 2, 3, and 4th viewing.

Its PG-13 here. I personally wasn't afraid during the movie, altho i did jump whenever i got surprise, like when the cave troll lunged at Frodo. It was sooooo set up for, and i knew it was gonna happen, but i still jump every single time! I think its cuz my nerves get all keyed up for it.

Of stars in shadow shimmering.
Tinúviel was dancing there
To music of a pipe unseen,
And light of starts was in her hair,
And in her raiment glimmering

There Beren came from mountains cold,
And lost he wandered under leaves,
And where the Elven-river rolled.
He walked alone and sorrowing.
He peered between the hemlock-leaves
And saw in wonder flowers of gold
Upon her mantle and her sleeves,
And her hair like shadow following.

He sought her ever, wandering far
Where leaves or years were thickly strewn,
By light of moon and ray of star
In frosty heavens shivering.
Her mantle glinted in the moon.
And on a hill-top high and far
She danced, and at her feet was strewn
A mist of silver quivering.

Well, it was PG-13 here as well, and I bloody well wish some parents would pay attention to the ratings. Wish it had gotten a "PG-13-WSSEU-NWB" rating [no one under 13 admitted without a parent wielding a switch to shut 'em up and no whining babies allowed].

Then again, a couple of cave-trolls with a chain-whip in hand would have been needed to quieten some audience members I encountered...

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." You like acronyms, don't you, Bropous?? I approve of the PG-13 rating. Not only the violence, but the subject material goes way over kids' heads. My friend's little sister (7) saw it with us, and I felt really sorry for her...you could tell she was petrified through the whole thing.

Personally I wasn't afraid either, except when Bilbo had his little evil-fit, and that was more surprise. I didn't think it was too bloody or violent . . . but then, I've been watching the X-Files for years, and that show is worse than many an action movie (violence-wise).

LOL, Yeah, bropous, but some people could really benefit from a bit of a scare! I was tempted several times to whisper "My precioussssss . . . " in some one's ear right during the tensest parts and watch them jump. Maybe it should have a PG-13-PTBPBRTF rating! (no one under 13 admitted unless they're prepared to be picked on by REAL Tolkien fans!)

Hey people, most of these kids have probally killed thousands of their friends playing video games more gruesome than FOTR. Which one was it that you could pull the skeleton out of your defeated opponent?

Careful Quazar or I'll down down up up high punch toasty you!

As for FrodoFriend being as innocent as a Hobbit, somehow I doubt it. Just you try and get between her and Elijah and you'll encounter the meaning of 'excrutiating agony' very quickly.

Apart from that though she's sweet as pie

Lol, Gerbil, Bropous, and FrodoFriend.
It was indeed PG-13 where I live. How it got to be PG in any place is beyond me, thogh.
Maybe it should have been PG-13-TFWAPTSUAWTMOUYHADW
PG-13, Tolkien Fans (Who Are Prepared To Shut Up And Watch The Movie)Only, Unless You Have A Death Wish.

Errm can someone give me a hand? I appear to be stuck to the bottom of FrodoFriend's shoe. A spatula should do the trick. Not that it's not fun, looking up her skirt, but I'd trade that for being more than half a centimeter thick any day of the week.

*flat squeak*

Cheers bro. Don't worry, I'll avert my eyes. I don't want to see some stupid spatula when I can look up FF's skirt.

Oh and Luthien? Go to the back of the queue please.
3 Frodos have already been made, but more are on the way. Probably.
