Strider What happened to the dragon?

Note: This is kinda spoilery for any who haven't read the Cronicals of Narnia

Allright from the title you are likely now wonder what I am talking about or have concluded that I am talking about Eustace as a dragon, I'm not.

Anyway in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe when Edmund walked through the witches courtyard one the the people turned to stone was a dragon, or more "A lithe shape he took for a dragon" so I tend to assume that at one point the White Witch turned a dragon to stone.

However later when Aslan is wakeing all the people who were turned to stone there is no mention made of the dragon, every other stone person encountered by Edmund is mentioned -including the giant!- but nothing is said of the dragon, not even something saying that he (Or she as the case may be) was not turned back from stone.

And now to the question: What happened to the dragon?
Did Aslan not turn the dragon back from stone and it's just not mentioned?
Or did he (Or she) get turned back and again is not mentioned?
Or did the dragon somehow leave before Aslan came to wake them?

And so I ask you: What in Narnia happened to the dragon?!?

A very good question. And doubly interesting since all those that the witch turned to stone were in some way good. A good dragon?! In Narnia? Not likely.

Thats an awesome little detail, I've never noticed, now I'll be thinking about that for like the rest of the day.

Interesting Q. Maybe the dragon used magic of some sort to weaken the spell enough to eventually break it, though I do not know how much thought process you had when you were stone.
Not all dragons are evil! Though you are probably right that kind dragons are hard to come by in Narnia.
I do not think it is spoiless to read/respond to this thread if you have not read the books. I haven't read them, except for half of the first and the last half of the third, about three years ago. So no, I may not be of much help on Narnia trivia, but as you can see from my name I kind of like dragons... maybe... sorta. They are covering my room! Oh well, sorry if I am kind of physco at 3 in the morning.

However this is Narnia, I don't know if there would be any good dragons there.

And any would likely be talking dragons which we never hear of...

And I'd think a dragon would be a noteable addition to such a party

Okay, here are a few theorys to keep the thread going:

1: That the dragon was brought back from being stone and flew off.

The problem is that it seems like that would be worth mentioning and it isn't said.

2: The dragon was just hybernating and whenthe frost let up he left.

3: The dragon was turned back by the thaw for some reson.

4: It was an oops on the part of C.L. Lewis (I don't like this one much)

Edit/P.S:
Oh, and one thing to note on this matter is that this is Narnia and dragons here are all evil/gready and magic here seems to be verbal and dragons in Narnia can't talk... (I know this becuase when Eustice was turned to one he couldn't talk)

Perhaps he was wrong and it wasn't a dragon after all?
