I'm an alto. I love Mrs. Hine (my choir teacher) and I love to sing, so.... And, the musical that we're doing? Les Miserables. Yes.

Heh . . . Guess what?
The B flat got axed! Bwahahaha . . .
My choir and teacher got sick of hearing Hannah and I screech it. Just as well . . . now we sing it down the octave w/ everybody else. Rather boring, but much more pleasant to sing and hear.
I can hit the B flat and above in warmups and what-have-you, but not real easily. That's another lousy thing about school choir - barely any warmup time. Were I warmed up properly, the whole Masquerade song up til the key change would be easy. Without warming up, I start screeching the G too. Hope I'm still let sing that one! I've taken to runnign my laps in gym and humming, "Do re mi fa so la ti do."
It scares people. Bwahahaha.

All-State tryouts are tomorrow! Wish me luck, I'll need it.

Remember how I said I have soprano I tendencies? I do, but my notes don't sound like a soprano I's. I can hit a G just fine, but it doesn't have the 'style' a true soprano I's would. In most of the songs I have to hit a G, and fairly early in the morning . At least not at eight o'clock like last year. I'm finally starting to get a more flowing sound though, but only today.

Also, jazz choir season starts soon! I'm so excited (I'm singing soprano I in it). We're doing a song called "Chili Con Carne". It sounds dumb, but go listen to it! It's great fun.

Hey, good luck, Starr Polish, if it isn't too late to say so.

I had a concert last night . . . sang Masquerade . . . had solo . . . freaked out . . . shook like a leaf in the wind . . . forgot words . . .
Apparently nobody noticed, though. I'll never be any good for live performances because I get really intense stage fright. Lousy . . .

When I forgot the words to a solo in fifth grade I almost started crying, but no one in the audience noticed

I didn't make All-State. I'm a little angry about that too. I walked into the audition with my parnter (I was only in a duet), and I was singing the best I had ever sung in my life. Then, we come to the last song, and my partner really screwed it up. Grr...for some reason, though she knew I was a second soprano, she thought I was a first one and freaked out when she thought I hadn't come in, so SHE didn't come in, and completely ruined the audition. Next year, next year.

Three people from our school did make it though, and I'm very glad for them
