Hello, everyone, I am new!

I just joined your board. I have been a big fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's works for many years. I am extremely excited about the upcoming movies, and will greatly appreciate any and all spoilers that can be found!

Hi Aerin! I'm new too. I look forward to talking to you.

Do you prefer jokes or serious conversation?

(Hey everybody! I no longer have to share names with Tess! But wasn't it sweet of him to let me? )

Have you ever read The Blue Sword ? That is another one of my favorite books. I can't begin to list all of my favorites, so I will just talk about my top favorite ones!
The Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Return of the King
The Hobbit
The Redwall Series
The Hero and the Crown
The Blue Sword
and books too numerous to mention!

Yes, in fact I read the Blue Sword first and then the Hero and the Crown. I then bought both the next year and loaned them out to someone who apparently liked them too-she never returned them!
So I replaced my copies. I have not read the Redwall series, but have read all the others on your favorites list. Who wrote the Redwall books?

Ah, thank you Renille! I am always looking for new things to read. (Having already re read all of LOTR 3 times in anticipation, I could use some distraction. Gambit is getting to think I have lost my last marble.)

How many books are there in the Redwall series?

All the books in the Red Wall series are good but I thought think they are also very similar. After reading a couple of them, the others made me feel like I knew what was going to happen before it did. Sorry to rag on any of your favorite books.

Redwall books do get kind of repetetive, but he puts in interesting characters so that they're worth the read.

The number of books....hmmm....anywhere from nine through twelve; I can't remember exactly.

I am happy to find other people who have read Redwall. Most teens won't admit to it, so yeah to you guys! I have read many fantasy books, Mercedes Lackey is among the authors. I only read a little bit, and I didn't like it. Some of her other series look very interesting though. When there is a library a reasonable distance from here I will check her out!

I think there are now 13 books in the Redwall series.
Yay!! I'm not a total geek for thinking they're cool! However, the quality is definately starting to fail, especially plot and character developement. My favorite isMariel of Redwall .
