Tolkien Toy Trades
For those of us who unashamedly enjoy toys, here's a thread for people to swap extra Burger King Lord of the Rings toys to get the ones needed to complete a set. I used to do this with Beanie Babies, and I found that trusting one's fellow man made the toy acquisition more fun.
Rules: 1. Everyone participating must be registered at Entmoot (trust only goes so far) 2. No money changes hands - everyone bears his own mailing expenses. I have: Legolas Boromir I will trade either or both for any of these: Orc Strider Gandalf Elrond Bilbo |

Have you gone to your local Burger Kings and just asked them to sell you the toys(without buying the meals)...the ones in St. Louis do. $1.00 apiece. Go there when they are not busy, and ask. I went to one and the manager let me root through a box of them, and I found all I was missing. I got the entire set within a week! Let me know how you do!

My local Burger Kings were cooperative that way in the beginning but are now so sick of the whole promotion that they simply plop the toys in the bags and refuse any attempt to exercise a choice. Burger King made it difficult for customer and employee alike by not putting any number or name on the outside of the bag. In one Burger King where we got Elrond, we actually saw a toddler throw his Bilbo in the trash (!), while the manager still insisted to us that there were no Bilbos within 50 miles of the place.
Ebay shipping charges are disproportionate. So I have placed an order for the few still needed from a toy store in Louisiana that claims to have them all in stock for $2.50 each with no shipping charges. I am hoping this will work out. |

Actually, I have already completed my sets. But thanks. Last week that store in Louisiana, run by a nice lady named Marilyn, filled my order quite quickly. I highly recommend this site to those whose quest continues: http://www.mcdonaldtoys.com/
