Strider FoTR Extended Version

Last night I watched the extended version of the Fellowship of the Ring on DVD. There were a couple of small pieces that I noticed were not in the edited version, and I'd like to know which of these deleted scenes you'd like to have seen in the regular version of the movie. Personally I liked the extra piece in the beginning, with Bilbo beginning to write his book regarding his adventures with the dwarves.

I liked the extra scenes from Lothlorien, especially the gift giving...

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.'

'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin

I think all the extended and deleted scenes were needed, it helps develop the story better. It just made the movie a little too long for standard movie goers. There were only a few I think were absolutely needed in the theatrical version. Of those I think "Concerning Hobbits" should have been in, and "The Gifts From Galadriel" should have been there. "Concerning Hobbits" lets you know alot more how hobbits act and their characteristics, and 'The Gifts From Galadriel" lets you see that she not only gave Frodo a gift, but all the members of the Fellowship, and you see that Sam got the Elven rope, which he uses later.

There are already a couple of threads about the extended edition of FotR. Please do a search and post your thoughts there. Oh, and I think the scene where Boromir and Aragorn intro themselves to each other should have been in the theatrical version.
Edit: here, I found it for you: thread.
