My book has been published!

Okay, I promise I won't bug everybody to death, but you have to check it out: The Ring of the Dark Elves by Victoria Randall, available at iUniverse .
It's the epic quest of the Norse hero Sigurd Fafnirsbane, and the struggle for the enchanted ring cursed by the dwarves.

Wow! Looking good! I hope it'll end up in some store around here. Mythology is a great hobby of mine and I recently started delving into northern myths.

May I ask who made the cover?

Thank you everybody for all the good wishes.

The cover art is by my son Keith, and the iUniverse people did the design.
At this point it can only be ordered on-line at iUniverse, and soon at Amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. Maybe eventually at real Barnes and Noble bookstores; but I don't know if B & N have a branch at Nin in Eilph. (Where in Middle earth is that?)

Editor's Choice, eh? Big congrats! I will likely order a copy (though I have a stack of books to get through first). I've been toying around with a Greek and Norse mythology-related fiction concept myself, so this will probably be an inspiration.

You know, I've always, always wondered why Wagner's Ring of the Nibelung only existed in opera form, and isn't represented by any great works of literature or film or anything.

Congratulations, and I suppose that kicks the Entmoot publication count up a notch...

Just so you know, online publishing does have some serious distribution problems, because firms like iUniverse are not held in high regard by some of the big distributors that stock the shelves of the big book chains (Barnes & Noble in the U.S., Chapters/Indigo where I am), despite what their FAQ may imply. Even Barnes & Noble.com is a separate entity from B&N's physical stores. It would be a very good idea to see if you can push for your book to be picked up by a traditional publishing house. The Editor's Choice award will probably help you immensely.

Wow, congratulations!!! That looks really cool, I'll definitely have to find it and read it.

Oh, and by the way. . .iUniverse looks like a good way to get your stuff published. . .would you recomend it? My stuff is nowhere near complete, but when it is, and hopefully it will be within the next year or so, I want to look into publishing. Now that you are a published author, do you have any tips?

Congratulations, Entlover! What kinds of advertisements are set up for your book, and do you have reviewers checking it out, at present?

Aww, too bad, I can't buy online.

I haven't seen any Barnes and Nobles bookstores yet around here in Belgium. But I know an English bookstore that buys many little known fantasy genre books from practically everywhere.

(Nin in Eilph is in Eregion by the way.)

Your son's a good artist.

I think iUniverse did a splendid job on my book; it looks really professional, and all the errors I asked to have corrected were done perfectly. They babysit you through the whole process; they even give you a cover if you don't have one.

I'm learning more about publicity than I ever wanted to know -- am sending it to all the reviewers who'll agree to read it. I'm trying to do as much of it online as I can.

We must do a mooters' anthology, you know. Am thinking about rules and regulations.

If anyone wants to get it and isn't able to order online, you can order by phone at 1-877-823-9235. International orders: 001-402-323-7800.
