Animal Farm would be good because i was planning on reading it soon anyway and i always like talking about things ive read. I just finished Ethan Frome and it is the worst book ive ever read, if that was chosen id come back with nothing but abuse

Just to clarify, everyone is supposed to be voting on one of the books JD posted in his last post on page one to be our first selection. When should the voting close and the reading begin?

If we're voting from JD's list, I'll vote for Lord of the Flies, since I haven't read it. I suppose we should leave the voting open for a few more days so everybody has a chance.

Okay - since several people said they're willing to go with my suggestion and read Lord of the Flies we'll do that. Sorry I just got around to replying - I actually didn't see any e-mails notices.

Since it's Sunday right now - how would starting it Tuesday or Wednesday be? Also, now that we made our choice - who is in for reading this?

I haven't read it and I've wanted to - so that's why picked it. I do have the movie though.

Ruinel - I have enough dry boring computer books to read. I just bought two JSP books tonight - but at least I also got Weird New Jersey.

NO - I guess we can do a chapter every 3 days - a week or so. We'll be flexible and see how the best way of doing it is. It'll give everyone a chance to read it and post and stuff.

Anyone interested in reading and participating in the discussion of Lord of the Flies - I have started the Lord of the Flies - Entmoot Book Club Discussion

Please only discuss the book in the appropriate book thread. This thread will be reserved as a general meeting thread - so if you have any suggestions - please discuss them here. If you feel the format isn't going right - please don't hesitate to make your ideas known to the group. This is a work in progress - so I'm sure there will be changes made as we work out the logistics.

If people are going on vacation or anything and would like the group to hold up before going onto the next chapter - please let everyone know by posting here.

Was it decided to start new threads for the book club discussions, rather than use the existing thread about the book? Just curious.
Also, how will we know when we can start posting discussion in the thread (are we all waiting to post until a certain date, or do we jsut post when we finish the ch)?
Sorry I keep asking questions, I just like to make sure I'm totally clear on everything.

I think we should have a new thread for each book dedicated to the book club.

I think people should just start posting when they finish the chapter. That'll get the discussion going. if anyone has any other suggestions on this - let everyone know. If we find it doesn't work this way - we can always change it too.

You shouldn't be sorry. Like I said - nothing is etched in stone and we need to figure out the best way of doing this.

I just wanted to post and say that I read the first chapter of Lord fo the Flies Friday night. Didn't know who was on board with this thing. Hopefully we have enough people. If not - it might be just you and I Azaela.

I actually read ch. 1 Wed. night, but I've been so busy since then (out of town for a day, etc.) that I haven't had much posting time. I'll be posting there tonight or tomorrow, and hopefully others will join in after it's started. Otherwise,
