But when have most of these other countries sent out as much aid as America has or have accepted the immense quantities of refugees from war torn nations? People whom have flourished and prospered under the American flag despite their ethnic, religious or national origins.

Because America is an easy scape goat. As the biggest richest and loudest country ever, it dominates any and every international topic.

Americans are also big, rich and loud, and will always talk about American issues.
When ever there is a problem any where people call on America for help, because they know America might help them, but when ever things go wrong, America is always blamed, because they are always involved.

Mostly, America is blameless though. As just another country in the world wide community, America is as powerless as all others against the effects of globalisation, but people do not see this, or do not care.

Power is always resented. It doesn’t matter how it is used or if it is used. Someone is going to suffer whenever power is used, and even if it is not.

It is the curse of power, You can’t please everyone when you use power, and the more power you have, the more discontent people there will be by the way you use it.

And there is the cultural thing. America has been very successful exporting American culture (or at least a certain part of it). Yet, this success is accomplished by substituting elements of the native culture by the new, americanised ones. Like we know, any cultural change causes a reaction of resistance, whatever may be the origin of the change. In the case of American cultural elements this results in resentment against America.

Can I just point out here two things:

A) America is a lot more diverse than that. There is no mono-culture being exported out, per se. Also, if you want to blame someone, blame the corporations. Blame the media. etc, etc, and so forth. They're the ones that are exporting the so-called US culture into the global arena.

B) The damage to indigenous culture has already been done - and not by the so-called US b*stards. No. Look back earlier. In the pacific alone, multiple cultures were wiped out by missionaries. If you want to worry about culture being squashed, then for the love of all that's smelly, question the church.
