Oh damn, now I'm not so sure. Elbereth is also known as Varda in Aman - is this Valinorean - ie.Quenya ? Does anyone know someone on the moot who is a lanuguages guru - I'm not !
The answer I wanted though, was the one posted - at the meeting of Frodo,Sam & Pippin with Gildor's Elves....So come on somebody - ask a question......(Only from FOTR )

I think I'm supposed to be asking a question...so here it goes...

How long did Gandalf take to decide which direction to go in while the company was stuck in Moria?

It was one night, they camped in the guardroom, Gandalf couldn't sleep and relieved Pippin from watch and he stayed there for 6 hours while the others slept, then he got them up and chose the direction...

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.'

'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin

This is the hardest part of the Trivia games! The patient waiting. I hope you don't ask, "Who refers to Nindalf?"!

Ok here is my question!

What is the magical substance known as Starmoon, what is it and where did the Fellowship come across it on their quest?

I have a feeling that in the book it isn't called Starmoon," but is translated from another language (elvish or dwarvish?) as starmoon. Just a thought.
