I have a frien that has just joined the Moot. He's called Billy Bones and I think he'd like to join the RPG.

Well, the more the merrier. And we have two and a half books left to write about.

More suggestions...

On going from Rivendell on the Old Motorway to Moria, as they travel through Dunland, they get attacked by Yacuza assissins and wolves.

Moria - which is a huge derelict museum over the Dwarf Mining Enterprise.

If we already have the CIA, wouldn't MEI be confusing? Maybe we should make up a different sort of order, which Gandalf is also secretly a part of.

We also can't forget to relate Gandalf's capture by Saruman, and his escape from the Roof of Easy Escapes (but we can't call it that - that's from something else).

We have the FBI not the CIA.

FBI, CIA, same diff!

About the song, maybe we should work on it in this thread! I think you did a brilliant job, but it would be even funnier if it was crammed full of Middle-earth references. What do you think?

The adaptation of "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate", by Telcontar Dunedain:

Well I used to be a farmer and I made a living fine
I had a little stretch of land along the Gondolin line
But the times went by and though I tried the money wasn't there
And Morgoth's orcs came and took my land and told me fair is fair
I looked for every kind of job the answer always no,
"Hire you now" they'd always laugh, "we just let twenty go"
The Valar, they promised me a measly little sum
But I've got too much pride to end up just another bum

Then I thought "who gives a damn if all the jobs are gone,
I'm gonna be a pirate on the Great Sea ..." (Arrrrrgh!)

'cause it's a Heave! Ho! High! Ho! Coming down the plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
And it's a Ho! Hey! High! Hey! Farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Ranger on Valinor's mighty shores

Well you'd think the local farmers would know that I'm at large
But just the other day I found an unprotected barge
I snuck up right behind them and they were none the wiser
I rammed the ship and sank it, and I stole their buried tresure
A bridge outside of The Havens spans the mighty river
Farmers cross in so much fear their stomachs are a quiver
'Cause they know that Captain Earendil is hiding in the bay
I'll jump the bridge and knock 'em cold and sail off with the hay

'cause it's a Heave! Ho! High! Ho! Coming down the plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
And it's a Ho! Hey! High! Hey! Farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Ranger on Valinor's mighty shores

Well Mounty Osse, he chased me, he was always at my throat
He'd follow on the shore line but he didn't own a boat
But cutbacks were a comin' so the Mountie lost his job
So now he's sailin' with me and we call him "Salty Osse"
A swinging sword a scum 'n bones and pleasant company
I never pay my income tax, and screw the GST -- "Screw It!"
Prince Thingol down to Doriath, the terror of the sea,
If you want to reach The Shire boy, you gotta get by me

'cause it's a Heave! Ho! High! Ho! Coming down the plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
And it's a Ho! Hey! High! Hey! Farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Ranger on Valinor's mighty shores

Well pirate life's appealing, but you don't just find me here
I've heard that in Valinor there's a band of buckeneers
They roam the Coastline, from Arda to Fort Numenor
And you're gonna loose your Helmet and if you have to pass their way
Well winter is a comin' and the chill is in the breeze
My pirate days are over once the river starts to freeze
I'll be back in springtime, but now I have to go
I hear there's lots of plundering down in Old Valinor Maybe something other than Valinor here because it was used earlier?

'cause it's a Heave! Ho! High! Ho! Coming down the plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
And it's a Ho! Hey! High! Hey! Farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Ranger on Valinor's mighty shores

'cause it's a Heave! Ho! High! Ho! Coming down the plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
And it's a Ho! Hey! High! Hey! Farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Ranger on Valinor's mighty shores

'cause it's a Heave! Ho! High! Ho! Coming down the plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
And it's a Ho! Hey! High! Hey! Farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Ranger on Valinor's mighty shores

Maybe we could all tackle chunks together, but I feel woefully inadequate because I don't have LOTR with me. I'll help out as best as I can from memory if someone gets the ball rolling.

I made a few suggestions to the song, I think what Telcontar wrote is brilliant, we could really make it something.

I agree with Nurv, we should tackle it together. I'll start now.

The 'All that is gold' adaption has just been posted in the RPG forum.
All we have left in the meeting now is Gandalf, Frodo and Bilbo's stories along with the discussion.

Hey, I was thinking a little further ahead and was brainstorming on Moria- I was thinking, what if it was a mall? Moria Square Mall- the Mall of Middle-Earth? I don't know, something like that. Then there'd be the Dimril Elevator and the Escalator of Khazadum (I know I'm spelling that wrong... argh.)- I'm just trying to think of what the Balrog is?
Whaddya think?

I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

Most esteemed Lyrders. Very good ideas indeed. I have tried to add a bit about Gandalf's absence from the beginning of the story and up to the point where he's being locked up in the topmost room of Orthanc.
