Lyrd of the Ryngs - Dyscussion Thread

Hey guys, I think our fine RPG desrves a discussion thread! Then we can put down future ideas without them getting lost in OOCs.

I think we should include ideas not used from the first page, posted by Haradrim and Grey_Wolf.

Here is where we can ask questions, welcome new players (who are, of course, welcome) and put down and discuss ideas.

What do you guys think of the story so far? Any ideas for the Prancing Pony? I think it's quite fun how it humorously mirrors LOTR (though I know it's been done before, I have never participated personally).

Discuss away friends.

Here are Grey_Wolf and Haradrim's worthy suggestions: (p.1)

Ok no one else really uses this thread, but what if the subpeona (aka court summons, right?) is mostly removed with Aloe Vera, but they need Elrond to get it all off?

What are your ideas on Elrond?

Also, they missed Gandalf's 'rune' unless they go back to the Café before they leave. I don't think it matters either way though. What do you guys think?

Elrond could be Head Nurse of the Last Homely Hospital.

Sting could be a power drill.

We aso need to decide what the other wepons will be.
Here are some suggestions
Swords possesed by Aragorn, Boromir and Gandalf: Power Drills
Bows and Arrows: Staple Gun
Axe:On of those big double bladed saws used to cut down trees.

Thoughts.

But Sting is already a power drill. I think it should be unique. IIRC Sam has a hammer and Merry and Pippin have crowbars. (Merry's crowbar will be used to slay the Lawyer-King. )

Instead of Baradur, something to do with Barrister? (What lawyers are called in Britain.)

I love your staple gun idea, it's perfect. Galadriel gives Legolas a staple gun. ...The Staple Gun of Galadriel.

Maybe the saw thing (anyone know it's name) could be the swords and we could change the axe to something different.

Cross-cut saw. It would not make a practical weapon though, it's too bendy.

I was thinking that Glorfindel (called Gloryfindel by the sleaze press because of his popular political ambitions. Him also being the vain heir of a publishing tycoon.) should drive a white H.D. in the "Flight to the Ford" sequence and the Lawyers should drive black Yamaha bikes.

Lol Grey Wolf! You mean a Harley Davidson right?

I have an idea for "Flight to the Ford", what do you think:

Arwen shows up on Glorfindel's Harley, and slings Frodo across the front, movie style. Moments after the two leave, Glorfindel runs up, saying Arwen drugged his wine and stole his bike. Then a convenient low branch whacks Arwen off the bike, and Frodo drives it by himself to the Ford.

Cool? Not?

I dunno of poor ol' Glorfindel should get maligned by the press. The poor guy has had it rough as it is...

If you check out Lyrd of the Rings - the Homies you could read my version of the meeting of Glorfindel and the Group.

For the CoE maybe we could use the movie lines where Aragorn says 'You have my sword' ad Legolas says 'You have my......' etc. And then have Frodo expecting to recieve them.

We still need to think what the other weapons will be.

EDIT: In Rivendell we could have a song about Earendil the Pirate!
