Plan for a Virtual Middle Earth.

It would be too ambitious to think of making a real middle earth, and deviding the human race into Elves, Hobbits, Dwarfs, Ents and so on.

But I believe a virtual middle earth could serve a purpose just the same. After all we only need our imagination and our knowledge of Tolkien's master pieces to feel and breath as if in Middle Earth.

So what do you think of this ?
Do u thing this possible?

I would imagine with technology today this would be very possible. What did you have in mind exactly though? An online version of middle earth (theres probably thousands already in the gamer scene) or a more substantial computer generated middle earth that you access through an electronic interface of some sort?

Online communities already exist in which you can do this. There's one (I can't remember where) in which you can role-play characters in settings as diverse as Bree, Angmar, Esgaroth, Gondor, Rohan, etc. I imagine a quick search on Google would track them down in no time.

not that kind. I am dead serious about this. I mean the kind where people forget there real lives, and slip into virtuality.

How about the groovy system they used for virtual camera angles in making LOTR the movie? It was a motion capture suit with VR goggles hooked up to the CG model of ME so Jackson could wander around trying out different camera angles for the digitised sequences.

Better get your ideas in quick; I can just tell that someone from the Fan Man thread is going to take this over the line of decency any minute now

cheers

Ha, know what? I'm just trying to convince my mum that a sword is something I really need. Going to prom night? Surely, I'll take my sword with me. No, seriously, I grab a banana or a spoon, run to my mother and hold it to her neck. Then I shout: Ha, sourprised, If I had a sword you'd be already dead.

And congressmn, you have my bow... Well not really, but I can provide you with the knowledge that can be found in my great HTML book, if you need it.

I've heard some rumours about a Lord of the Rings MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) being developed. Can someone confirm this?

You do not have my bow. It is utterly ridiculous to do this, when ME already exists! I live there, although I have been sent to the US by the Valar right now.
