2 Questions
1) Does Feanor have a sense of humour?
2) How would you make Feanor laugh? |

Re: ...
I think the only laughter from him you are likely to hear is fey, the man was mad.

Re: ...
I suppose Morgoth's head on a stick might do it.

Re: ...
But Morgoths head on a stick wouldn't arouse his sense of humor in my opinion....although he WOULD give a triumphant laugh (only if he was the one who slew Morgoth)...

Re: ...
Aww come on... surely if you waggle the head like a puppet and quote stuff from Barney you can draw a smile from ol' Feanor?
Get Maglor to write the script and music, and maybe Caranthir to do the puppetry.... like a ventriloquist dummy act, for example. Elves are pretty good at distracting people by throwing their voices..... |

Re: ...
Feanor needs some therapy. He needs to get over Morgoth. Feanor's stay in Mandos possibly includes group sessions, talks with Mandos, cognitive therapy....
If what Anthony Robbins writes in "Unlimited Power" is right, imagining your enemy in a ridiculous situation is very empowering. (Not that I believe it 100%) Hence the Morgoth-Barney thing. I'm not really serious about this. |

You shouldn't be, easterlinge. It wouldn't work. I'm sorry, Morgoth, Sauron, Gothmog & Friends holding hands and singing 'WE LOVE YOU ... ' around Húrin on Thangorodrim would have cracked him for sure. Terrifying. |

Sure thing Xanthyz.
Draw a pic of Daeron playing the saxophone while you're at it. "Daeron the dark with ferny crown and dark spectacles"..... with Luthien the diva singer, playing in the Neck of the Woods nightclub in Doriath... Grooooviiee..... What if..... Glaurung looked like Barney? |

Re: ...
Hmmmmm..... a Silmarillion parody?
The Two Trees are poisoned, but Feanor reveals his latest invention: the Three Light Bulbs. etc etc..... I'm sure you guys can continue the saga in this way? I'm thinking of a Beren and Luthien parody..... |

Re: ...
 I have every confidence in you making it great!!
Aüle creates new standlamps that can hold the Three Lightbulbs, and peace and order is once more restored in Aman. Except, off course, for the squabble between Feänor and the Valar for the price off his light bulbs. In the end, they agree that Feänor should get the Elecricity firm, but the Valar regret that when he presents them with the bill, which is more than they can possibly pay, so he cuts the power to the lamps, and there is darkness again. The Valar run Feänor out of Valinor, and he goes to ME with all the people that worked for him in his firm. Back in ME, he hears of the Thangorodrim, and at once he desires it, since he can just imagine how much it would cost to heat it all. And so he leads all his people in an all out attack on Thangorodrim so that his salesmen can reach the doors. When that fails, he sets up a siege off the place, so that noone else will be able to sneak in and steal his deal. Morgoth off course, wants to buy from other, more reasonable firms, and try to break the siege so he can send emissaries to his favorites. |

How many Valar does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
(I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.)

None, they'd get a Maia to do it.

Aule's the only mechanically minded Vala, so he and his pupils the Dwarves would do it.
So Aule + 7 Dwarf-fathers...... Last edited by easterlinge : 08-21-2001 at 03:45 AM. |

Here's an episode for the Silmarillion Parody:
The Noldor march all the way to Alqualonde, but there they were delayed. For Feanor had not reckoned on the beauty of the bikini-clad Teleri brunettes who run hither and thither on the Beach of Alqualonde. The Noldor were distracted and stood gawking. It was some time before Feanor could get his sons to listen to him again. Fingolfin and his son Fingon had trouble concentrating. Finarfin lost it completely and decided not to go with Feanor, so enamoured was he of the Teleri beach babes. Especially after they held a luau for him in the starlight, dancing the hula in grass skirts. It was only after Feanor made Maglor sing "Who Let Melkor Out? (Woof woof woof woof)" repeatedly that he was able to get the Noldor to listen to him again. |
