Re: WHAT!

The Balrog of Moria had wings, be they physical or made of shadow, it still had wings.

Re: WHAT!

Wings of shadow... this is clearly a metaphor, saying that he had an aura of shadow.

Re: WHAT!

wow this is off topic Balrogs do have wings. I bet the Balrog in the movie will have wings too (I have read about 2/3 of lotr, past the balrog bit, although i don't remember it saying anything about wings, too lazy to go look, you just got the feeling that it did). now back on topic: I guess the hobbit mods were replaced because all of them were or became mods or forum hosts of some kind so I guess there was no more need for them, and because webwizard would probably actually start discussions, . Now feel free to continue talking about balrogs

Re: WHAT!

I agree, in the movie I think it will have wings... As for in the books, I can't really make up my mind... there are ways to argue for both views...

Re: WHAT!

I guess that's why people argue on the subject...

If I had less restraint I would nuke this entire thread on the account of Balrog-bickering and then leer threateningly at Tarpols for waking up the fiery demon again.

Please, not another Balrog debate! We're talking about moderators!

but I am however convinced that Balrogs have pointy ears

At least the Hobbit forum is getting more posts now. No longer dieing out. Speaking of things about the forum, when do we get our old post rankings back? I used to be an Elven Warrior, now I'm back to lowly Hobbit.
