Whatever happened to Radagast ?

At the end of the book, "The Grey Havens", when the great and wise leave ME, there is no Radagast. Where was he then? In "The Ring Goes South ", when the scouts are sent out prior to the Fellowship leaving Rivendell, it is reported that :

reached the old home of Radagast at Rhosgobel. Radagast was not there;

Also the words of Saruman ( "The Council of Elrond" ) come to mind :

"Radagast the Brown!" laughed Saruman, and he no longer concealed his scorn. "Radagast the Bird-tamer! Radagast the Simple! Radagast the Fool! Yet he had just the wit to play the part that I sent him"

Did Saruman have him murdered ? There just seems to be no sign of him anywhere later in the book. Again where did he go ?
Personally I think he was killed after he delivered the message to Gandalf. It would also be a sign of how much Saruman had fallen, having one of his own brother wizards murdered.

There is very little said about Radagast and his activities even before he was Saruman´s messenger to Gandalf. Yet Gandalf seems to view him as an active and worthy Istar. So presumably, Radagast went on with his not so visible activities after that event and perhaps for a while after Sauron´s fall and the end of the Third age. He might have gone with a later ship.

Saruman certainly did not murder Radagast. He only meant that Radagast was deceived, though he wanted Gandalf to believe that the former was on his own side. This was impossible: Gandalf said it was impossible to try to corrupt the honest Radagast.

With a little Secondary Belief, I wouldn't be surprized to discover Radagast was still around today, minding his own business and not concerning his with mankind.

Except that UT says Gandalf (the last Istari to come) was in fact the only one to stay true to his mission, so Ragagast was corrupted of sorts. But seduced by the good side, the life of animals and plants. A true ecologist! Perhaps if he´s still around he´s active in Greenpeace and the like?

Say not corrupted! One may fail a mission of noble intent, and yet not be stained by the Shadow. He forsook his mission and neglected his purpose, for which he was sent. Misguided (by himself), maybe, but not corrupted, I think.

Perhaps Radagast's biology was more one of zoology and a bit of botany, I don't know.
