Hey, Chrys! It's been a year already??? Imagine that!!! I wish I could be here more often. And Rian...I really miss this crazy place. Of course, I now work in a crazy place...I seem to attract a certain kind of people...

Why is that, do you suppose???

Well, Ben set up the "Welcome" thread originally for newbies to introduce themselves. However, there were many threads or posts made OT in threads welcoming old members back, so he changed the "Welcome" thread to accomidate returning members. It helps to keep the forum a bit more organized.

Really, I wonder what the average stay on a message board is ... SGH, what's your experience? Most of the people that were here when I joined are pretty much gone, and I've been here almost 2 and a half years.
Well, I have been here at Entmoot and SF-Fandom for four years. I've seen a lot of people come and go at both places, so I would say the average stay at an MB ranges anywhere from 2-4 years, just from what I've observed from these two sites.

Reminds me of "Old punks never die, they just hide their tats and get straight jobs."

If departing and returning members covers it, what is this thread about? There's only so much you can say about the glory days of the Entmoot Rebellion. Or "What would you do heh heh heh..."

Something that happened many years ago, when we were but saplings and the grass was green... ahem...

Who is this Freddie guy JD and/or Tessar? JD seems to actually be Freddie...

JD was not Freddie. Tater was Freddie.

Hee. I'd always wondered about that. I think that was a little before my time here, but I'd heard a lot about it.

Why does JDs title say "I am Freddie" then? Carrying on Tater's legacy?

Tessar, I love reading archived thread! Your old posts are hilarious, what are you talking about.

Hobbit had changed a bunch of people's title to "I'm freddie" - mine was the only one whose was left as it was. I was also central to the whole joke - because I led the revolt to restore tater's admin status. It was a lot of fun.

Well, being that I remember and posted on the old EZboard Entmoot, I lost touch when the board was moved. I also remember some folks here from the early days of Barrow Downs. I managed to find my way back when I visited the Tolkien Trail and I registered here. I spent many good years on Tolkienonline before Mb politics and drama led to my banning there, but I have to say that was the best thing to happen to me. It got me back out to other lands and meeting new folk. Yes I'm a bit of a messageboard slut and wander about looking for good Tolkien based converse and RP. I always manage to come back to Entmoot though after a time of being away. Maybe if I had hung around constantly since 2000 and posted every chance I got I would have several thousand posts by now.

So does Afro-Elf still post? He always had the best topics.

I haven't seen afro-elf for some time. He always has been one to pop in and then disappear for long periods though. He did have great posts and was such a nice fellow.

Good times. Aside from the Sil and LotR discussion projects, and the second Entmoot election, I can't remember anything notable happening. But I guess those three things are enough!

I think I was away for some prank or other...

I still remember when that "Reminiscing about the good ol' Mooting days..." was started, good times.

But my favorite period must be when the "Jon-a-thong" and "Most Wanted"-threads were around, good times. Still miss Ruinel.

So there was an older entmoot! I heard rumor. That must be why before a certain date everyone is a guest. I have brought back some of those old threads. It's funny (And kinda embarassing) to see my name alongside all of these guests who really aren't guests and haven't posted since 01, 2 years befor eI joined.

Yep, the moot is a good place. Sometime, in 20 years, I'm going to look back at this CSS tag that I got yet again when a page failed to load no more than ten minutes ago:
<!-- NEW HEADER & NAVBAR Now that the nav buttons are in the navbar template, you

and remember tha tmy internet was so bad on this computer that I got all of these things that are usually only seen by moderators.
