So I'm not crazy! I saw that too. Is it a countdown until the entire world is destroyed?

If this countdown thing results in Entmoot being destroyed, I'm going to jump off the nearest ledge.

~Quietly in the foliage Hector waited, crouched and alert to every sound the forest made. But the question that burned his brain was "where had they taken Treebeard?" Surely one did not simply 'treenap' and Ent! But then, the Entwives had disappeared long ago, and only vague, misty rumors were left in their path. What would happen to Entmoot if the master-ent dissappeared? What would happen to Fangorn?

Now Hector heard sounds that were not natural to the forest. Voices, two or three of them, possibly four. Mirkwood elves, he thought. It was instinctual to him to think so. But as footsteps came into hearing range as well as voices, Hector recognized the heavy tread of iron boots. He listened.

Voice 1: "---that's what the Dark Lord means to do, so you'd better not blab!"

Voice 2: "I'm no blabber, Grintkol. You forget I was head-orc of Saruman's Intelligence."

Voice 1: "Saruman's intelligence! No wonder he had so little of it. But just the same, don' be lettin' the others know what we've got hidden. No peep even now of the place it's at. They say there's a fierce general who lives in these parts."

Voice 2: You'll see, I'll keep it quiet. And no general's going to stop us!"

The voices passed farther down the road, and Hector, waiting until they moved out of sight and sound, dashed up the road to follow them quietly. But just as noisily as they had come, there was no sound or sight of them. Fearing some trap, Hector hastily ran in the other direction, then cut through the woods back to Entmoot Town. He had to tell the others!

You turn your back for the weekend to do some gardening, and someone makes off with your local ent...

Does anybody know Quickbeam's number? Maybe he can stand in for the time being.

Well, I think it's high time that we at least heard those ransom demands! I mean, geez, if they're trying to make a profit, they're not very good criminals...

In the meantime, we should probably try to round up whoever and whatever we can to help get Treebeard back... Mari's tiger (Mari has a tiger, right?) and Nauti's sea monster... Sane probably wouldn't hurt (us... I hope ). Does Earn have a chocolate-keeping force we could borrow? And her gecko? And where did Bunnicula go?

And have we CONSIDERED implicating that evil Santa guy that Tess was friends with a few years back?
