You can ask him if he want mention strawberry icecream just once in his next book. Wouldn't that be cool? But probably you'll just mutter with a red head I think your books are great, thank you for signing Or at least that's probably all I will be able to say in such a situation.

Ah this bring back memories......I remember when my sister met a singer in person whose music she enjoyed greatly. You should have seen the look of total admiration on her face! Good thing I had my camera with me.....

well its a story but in between each chapter ..hang on let me put up a description of it:

well basically acience of the discworld starts off by all the wizard creating the globe or the earth. and then basically in between each terry p chapter, is a real life science bit actually talking about space elavators and quarks. its very challenging reading (well it was to me) if you dont know much about science but it was really good.

and now i know all about space elavators!

So it's like a creation myth with science...Mmmm sounds interesting. I know black holes, quasars and quarks but I haven't heard of space elevators. Gotta try that sometime then.

Meeting the man himself

I met Terry Pratchett at a book signing last year and, cos it was in Camberley (for Camberley read 'Middle of Nowhere') I got to speak to him for a bit. He was very funny. I was there with one of my mates, and I complained about something along the lines of she still couldn't spell my name (He could by the way, without me having to spell it out. Go Terry!)
His comment:
"Never admit you can't spell. Always say you're dyslexic. That way people will feel sorry for you."

Was v amused. He also had the cool hat! Yay!

My wonderful father has bought all 26 Discworld books (do not own the Last Hero yet. Am working on it).
I love the books with the witches in them. Especially Carpe Jugulum, for no particular reason. The City Watch is really good too. In fact, they're all realy good. Hmmm, must go read them again...

Am becoming disenchanted with palantir guy. Refuses to send me photo, except of one v. large eyeball. Says he is shy but I rather suspect he is fat, or perhaps hairy. Have heard some v. bad stories about palantir relationships. Should probably cool it for a while.

Well, wouldn't you know, palantir guy turned out to be Dark Lord of Mordor. Just my luck. Could have been worse, I guess. Sauron not far or hairy, just disembodied force of evil. Must go now, have to raise massive demon army to scourge the earth. Also, have manicure appointment. Is no easy task keeping nails pointy.

Am tired of climbing up and down eight million stairs just to taunt Gandalf. Should have imprisoned him in easy-access dungeon where could taunt more effectively, and would not have to wait until after breakfast.

Have crossed orcs with goblin men in caverns below Isengard. V. tedious experience as orcs and goblin men most reluctant to breed, even with dinner and flowers. Next time will try something easier, such as breeding goblins and cheerleaders to create super-perky army that can travel by day and will not complain about pink uniforms.

Did not know when decided to make demon army for Sauron that would be so darn messy. Curse my decision to be Saruman the White. Should have decided to be Saruman the Muddy Brown, or Saruman the Faintly Greenish. White just shows all the slime.

Why is it that every one else seem to have met the guy? I feel left out.

Does he has 26 books already? I never counted them. Makes you wonder how he manages to keep on producing books at this rate.

Well a couple of them he wrote years and years and years ago so when he was slowly publishing them he had time to write a load more.

Did you know he wrote his first book at 13?The Carpet People.

hey, shall we make this into a quiz? just for fun. if you dont want to its fine. just something to liven things up.

Good to find other Terry Pratchett fans, I love his Discworld series. I've read them all up as far as "Sourcery" and have bought Wyrd Sisters which I'll read soon.

Combining fantasy with humour must be incredibly hard but he is a unique writer and manages to pull it off.

Hail Terry!
