It translates literally to "Go Around The Other Side Of The Mountain", lemme get my Maskerade.. ah yes, K'ez'rek d'b'duz. And to the trolls she's Aaoograha hoa, "She Who Must Be Avoided."

Well, you have to admit, it is...apt.
Terry Pratchett stuff makes me happy.

Elves are FREAKY. Like the ones in Lords and Ladies. I've read some folk tales about elves, just for interest's sake, and I am telling you now I would NOT like to run into one. They are unpredictable and powerful and scary and they like to kidnap people. (shiver*...)

The bit in L&L, where Magrat was reflecting on all those old bits of folklore, was wonderfully creepy.

They love music, and steal away musicians...

And on the subject of theft, who else liked CJ's Nac mac Feegle?

I personally LOVE Nanny Ogg's Cookbook. Cracks me up!

By the way just in case your interested, Terry has signed a contract to write one book a year for the next three years, the first coming out in November.

He's already writing more than one book a year in my opinion. I already have difficulty to follow up reading. This one-book-a-year-scheme is possibly a plot to have more spare time..

I have only The Last Hero to read now but I'm currently reading the Two Towers so i have postponed buying it.

I hope he does another City Watch or Death one. They are the funniest!

omg, i LOVE Discworld!!! the first terry pratchett book i ever read was Good Omens, co-authored by Neil Gaiman.. very very funny. i've read most of the discworld ones except maybe five or six of them. my favorites are death, city watch, and granny weatherwax. what is up with death always going off, getting drunk, and leaving all the work up to susan? oh well..

I just bought "The Truth" at the airport. Made that 4 hour flight a little less onerous.

I like all the threads except the Witches ones, for some reason. I like the Unseen University, City Watch, and Death the most, I guess. But "Small Gods" is a brilliant stand-alone.

I first read Terry Pratchett when a friend lent me "good omens". I'm glad she did.

The Truth has to be one of my absolute favourites along with Small Gods and Mort.

I havent actually read any of his non discworld books. Are they any good? Apparantely Truckers, Diggers etc... are rubbish.

I love the Discworld books. I've read all but two of the Discworld series and I have all except three of them, plus Good Omens and The UnAldulterated Cat. You can't go wrong with Terry Prachett, all his books are hilarious.

TeryyP is brilliant munching my way through his books as well as others at the moment, Mort is latest one I've read.
So many humourous references to Shakespeare and other writers, (JRRT included).
