oh yeah.

I play it all the time when my cousins are over. (which is quite frequently too) It began when my cousin moved into my hous, and introduced us to it. He was a great DM, and got us addicted, then he got my cousins addicted. I have my own campaign now... (and my cousin moved out...)

As for the movie, it needed better actors.

I am a 22 year veteran of RPGing. Dnd was the 1st and will always have fond memories but I just no longer like the HIGH fantasty style.

I prefer the new decipher LOTR game.

I used to play freestlye. In other words, no dice, no stats, just a good storyline and a player making decisions about where to go next. I found it easier and more fun than with all those confusing numbers.

I've been a role-player of over fifteen years (sudders at the thought of all those years).

I sarted on the old TSR D&D, and yes it was fun. I understand the license is now owned by another company, but I've never read any of their publications.......I'd be interested in hearing if they are any good

These days I'm into the more horror influenced rpgs, Call of Cthulhu and Kult (the Kult campaign has ran for 3 yrs now).....

WiseWizard if you enjoy the 'freestyle' rpgs you could do worse than check out the Amber RPG (its based on the Roger Zelazny books but it is easily modified for any genre).......it is a 'diceless' system but gives good ideas for resolving combat/skills etc in a purely storytelling based campaign

heres the link.......but there are loads of other sites devoted to amber as well

Yeah, I play D&D some. I wish I played more! I just signed up for the gaming club here at my school so hopefully I'll be playing more. But my favorite is a live-action rpg I participate in sometimes when I'm at home, which is based somewhat on D & D. Now that's fun!

I used to play about 15 yrs ago. For the past 3 yrs or so, I've been playing the Baldur's Gate series, Torment, and now Neverwinter Nights; all of which are PC-based games which have wonderfully ported the rules from pen and paper.

Played D&D way back when it came as either a "Basic" or "Expert" version. I've still got a (very old) Basic version and my kids have made me promise to play it with them soon. Maybe someone should set up a RPG museum...I can just picture it: "Exhibit 15 - Basic Dungeon & Dragons, c. 1982. Note the quaint restriction to 3rd Level characters and fine examples of Gygax-isms. Now lets move on to see a genuine Tunnels & Trolls first edition..."

Played AD&D for a while but I soon ditched it in favour of Call of Cthulhu. I loved the setting and liked Chaosium's rules. Drifted away from RPGs to be honest as rugby league took a death grip on my free time.

Back in 83-84, we played the TRS D&D, and were quite regular and deep into it. But one day one didn't show up for our game night, and we never again picked up on it. Recently I was cleaning out the attic at my folks house and I found all the figurines we used, and the game and maps we made and everything.

These days I write story RPs freestyle, and am looking into Shadowbane.

I went to a rather large White Wolf game...it was a combination of a lot of their games, but I only went once because they meet at 10pm on Saturday nights on the UW campus, and my parents wouldn't let me go Of course, I wasn't supposed to go when I did *cough* But it was really fun! I had a werewolf character...I almost died but another shifter came and healed me...

For those interested

Some of Joe Dever's single-person role playing adventures are available online (or as a free download) here-

http://www.lw-oasis.org/aon/

They are probably a bit basic for experienced rpg'ers but they are still fun ............. and an excellent introduction to role-playing in general

I might see about a Black Company D & D tournament in the Seattle area. Also, i believe they are developing a D & D MMORPG.
