If I can make a suggestion, try making the background a bit darker. It isn't quite ominous enough.

You might be right... But that was as dark as I could make it without messing up the black gate... Just think of it as the glow of mount doom

I do every frame pixel by pixel... that one took me 46 days to make.

It's an animated gif. Not all paint programs will do animated gifs.

Yes I use Adobe Image Illustrator to make all my animations - is the best to use, along with the obvious Photoshop.

I couldnt imagine using anything else.

Macromedia's Fireworks is designed for web graphics - so I use that for all my stuff.
